Well, we leave one week from today. In fact at this time next week, we'll have been on the road for about an hour & a half! :cool1: I can't wait.

Anyway, we are staying for the week at a condo at Windsor Hills but since we are going up one day early, we needed a hotel to stay at that for the night before. We have chosen Sheraton Safari Hotel. It looks really cool from the website but does anyone have experience with this hotel.

Check out the website for the hotel...http://www.sheratonsafari.com/

I haven't stayed there since '06 but when we did it was nice. The room was clean and the people friendly. No problems there. We'd try it again. It's also got a lot of restaurant choices around it. We liked having the Pizza Hutt right out front b/c after a long night it was convenient to just grab a pizza to bring to the room.

I love, love, LOVE the Sheraton Safari! We have stayed there twice, for 2 nights each time. First time, it was because our airline (TransMeridian) went bankrupt, and we had to fly a different airline and ended up spending a couple of extra days. There was a great deal for Safari on travelzoo for the dates we needed and I thought the kids would like the pool slide. We loved it so much that the next year we purposely arranged our dates to stay at SS for 2 days prior to checking in to the condo we rented.

We are not fussy people or particularily hard to please. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the beds are FABULOUS! They have lots of extra pillows which is great because we all sleep with 2 each. We love the breakfast buffet in the restaurant. Excellent quality food, fresh squeezed orange juice, lots of options. Kids 10 and under eat free (although last time they didn't charge our 12 yr old daughter, so I don't think they particularily care how old the kids are).

If you haven't already, sign up on the Sheraton website as a Starwood Preferred Guest. It is free to join, and you will earn Starwood points towards future stays. As a SPG member, they will also sometimes give free upgrades or welcome gifts. We stayed on the SPG floor, which is in the main building and the balcony overlooks the pool area. They also have internet available for $10. per day, if you have a laptop you want to bring.

Can't stay enough good things about Sheraton Safari. It is one of the only hotels that I would actually consider staying more than a couple of days at with my family of 4 (for longer stays we always get a 2 bdrm condo).

ETA: If you join Starwood Preferred Guest program before you go, call the hotel ahead of time and have them add the membership number to your reservation. They may not offer free upgrades if they don't know you are a member!

We stayed there a few years ago and actually got a great deak at the time thru Priceline.

We enjoyed our stay there very much and since I was Starwood Platinum at the time, we were upgraded to a suite which was very nice.

During our rsercah, we found this website about the Sheraton that still seems to be up an running. Lots of good information.

We stayed there last year. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast and service were great. I would stay here again when off-site.

I stayed at the Sheraton Safari Hotel a few years ago. The property was great. The rooms were clean and my room had a balcony with a great view into the interior courtyard. The breakfast buffet was around $8 (my memory is defective on the cost) and it was pretty tasty.

Another :thumbsup2 for the safari. Have stayed there twice and would definately go back. Got great rates both times thru travelzoo. Location is great too.

We stayed there for 3 weeks back in October 2006 - it was fabulous. :thumbsup2 Our DD6 still talks about the place she loved with the zebra beds (which are very comfy, BTW!).

We didn't hire a car and found their free transportation to WDW very convenient. Being in LBV, it was so close to WDW, that taxi fares were very reasonable too. The hotel is also an easy walk from DTD. ;)

Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for all the great reviews! It sounds like a great hotel! We have changed our minds however and are staying at Allstar Movies since we were able to get a room opening there. It was cheaper & best of all -- AT DISNEY!
