Sheraton Four Points Orlando Studio City

Has anyone ever stayed at the Sheraton Four Points Orlando Studio City? I was planning a few days here for WWOHP before WDW. Any reviews would be helpful. Thanks.

Stayed there for a couple of nights about a year ago; its a nice 3* hotel; its an older, circular shaped, highrise building; it was refurbished at some point, but not sure how long ago; rooms were nice; I would request a room on the North side of the building, as you can see the Universal Parks (probably about 1/2 to 3/4 mile away); there are not many rooms on each floor, but I believe there is about 20 or so floors in the hotel; I did not use the pool or restaurant, so I cann't comment on either; there are restaurants and shopping within walking distance, and Wet N' Wild is just across the street from the hotel; I can not not recall if internet was free, but there was a couple of free computers in the lobby of the hotel; there are not refrigerators or microwaves in the room and no complimentary breakfast; its possible, but I would recommend, to walk to the Universal parks (about a 20 minute walk along Universal Boulevard - its a safe walk, just a bit long, especially if its hot weather). Thanks for the information. We are going in August, so I am thinking that walking there might get a bit hot! I did see that there is a shuttle available to the parks, we will try to get on that.

I am looking for information on getting a fridge in the room, I see that they are arvailable for an extra charge, but I am not sure of the cost. I would love to know more specifics on what shops/restaurants are nearby, if you remember any.

Back in 2007, we stayed at a nearby hotel (Fairfield Inn), and we used the complimentary shuttle. The Sheraton Four Points was the last pick-up, so the shuttle was nearly full when it arrived at the Sheraton. On the way back to the hotel, it's the first stop. That was in 2007, it may have changed.

BTW, we are staying there for 4 nights in between two Wyndham timeshare stays. We're using StarPoints for a free stay. I hope we get a room on the upper floors.

I am using starpoints for a free three night stay...I will most likely have a rental car so I won't be relying on the shuttle, but if I can avoid paying for parking that would be good!

We stayed there for 5 nights last August, during our trip to Universal, and were very pleased. The room was super clean, and pretty spacious. My kids used the pool just about every night we were there. It was kept nice and clean. There was both free wireless and wired internet in the rooms. I called in advance to have a fridge and microwave put in the room, and was told the charge would be 10.00 per day for each if I ordered it in advance. If I requested them at check-in, there was no charge. Even though I thought that was weird, I decided to wait and request them at check-in. It turned out to be true...lol I wasn't charged. We did have to wait a day for them to become available, but as soon as they were, maintenance brought them up. I would absolutely stay there again, the next trip we amke to Universal.

FRom what I remember there is a Walgreens at corner of Universal and International - short walk from hotel; Red Lobster across the Street and I think another restaurant across the Street which I can not recall; a Denny's down the street about a block; and the area on International between Universal Blvd. and Sand Lake Road is very commercialized with stores, fast food restaurants & other restaurants and hotels.
