I was wondering which Shell's seafood restaurant is closest ? We are staying at All Star Movies. Thank you for help with this. I had read in other posts that this was a good place for seafood and wanted to give it a try. The website says there is one in orlando, kissimmee and winter park.

I don't know which one is closest, but I do like their food. The first time I ate at one was in 90 over on the gulf side. We would go there every year. About 8 years ago they opened one in Cincinnati (seemed very strange to me). It didn't last last long and now I don't eat there when I go to Florida because it doesn't seem like a vacation restaurant anymore. How silly is that? ;)

Shell's is a Tampa based restaurant chain that has tried to expand into some weird markets. the problem is you can't get the same freshness of seafood to those markets and maintain the low prices they have. so a lot of them do shut down. I went to one in IL once, and it wasn't the same at all.

Thank you to you both. Thanks 'cane fan you also replied to my thread about off site shopping. I appreciate everyones help and opinions. I love seafood especially when we are that close to the coast cause it is fresh. I think we will give this one a try. I do understand about it being not the same if you have one close to your home. Not as exciting anymore. Guess it is silly. :earboy2:

Willis....can you tell me when you are going and you will give a review of this resturant.

Looking for one more dinner to add to our vacation and with my brother's picking eating it needs to be seafood....

Thanks!

if you guys are looking for REALLY good fresh seafood down here, look up Bonefish Grill. Shells is kind of like a Chili's atmosphere.

We will be gone Nov. 13th thru thanksgiving. We have a nice long trip planned. But I would be happy to post how it is and any others I try off site when I get back. Hope this helps.

Is Bonefish Grill a chain? We have a restaurant with that name here (Cincinnati).

Shells seafood is very good. I have eaten at the one in Kissimmee and the one in Melbourne.

Technically yes (also from Tampa, strangely enough), but it certainly does not feel like a chain. The closest to WDW is on Sand Lake Road, near Dr. Phillips, the so-called "Restaurant Row." There's also one in Longwood. Great restaurant, and I don't even like seafood.

Be patient on the drive if you go...Shell's is 7 miles east of Disney on 192. It will be on the left...small sign with a big rainbow fish on it...

We really like it...Ted

Blech! No Shells for me. We tried the one in Winter Park and the only thing worse than the rubbery crab legs was the service.

Bonefish is excellent though. And I tried Seasons 52 last night, which is right next to BoneFish on Sandlake and it was AWESOME! Wow---was I surprised.

I loved Seasons 52! It was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

Bonefish is a national chain, so don't expect much different in Florida from the one in Birmingham, AL for example.

I personally like Shells. The prices are great so the atmosphere is so so....

Wow. Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate all the suggestions. Question though what is Seasons 52? Thanks!!! :earsgirl:

.

unless you like seafood from an hour away from the source. ours is open for dinner only, I'm not sure of the one in Birmingham. that way they take delivery from the local docks so you eat what they catch. at least here that is.
