Sheesh, barely any Mickey toiletries last trip!

Someone is cutting back somewhere. Just got back from CSR, which we really loved! The funny thing about it were the toiletries. There were 3 of us (all girls) and only 1 little tiny shampoo/conditioner. Plus, they must have gotten rid of the 3 to 4 inch bottles. They gave us a small little round shampoo that was probably 2 1/2 inches. We got NO lotion at all any of the days we were there (4). They did give us new soap each day. I am not one to notice the little things much but this was too funny when we would return and see that little teeny tiny bottle of shampoo sitting in the shower. Good thing we brought our own I guess. I left a note the 2nd day for the maids to leave some lotion but they didn't. Not a big deal but I found it kinda cheap. Anyone else notice this?

We were at CR last April. After the first day I saw our mousekeeper in the hall and asked her directly for some *extra* shampoo for the room. She was glad to do it. We always left her a nice tip. There were 5 of us and that little shampoo would never have made it through 5 showers! lol

You don't get lotion at moderates. Gotta go deluxe to get lotion and shower cap.

We've found the amount of Mickey toiletries to vary widely. We didn't get a lot this summer either, but we didn't stay at a deluxe this time. At YC, there was usually two or even three shampoos and a lotion every day.

For as long as I can remember you only got one bottle of shampoo and 1 bar of soap daily. We always bring our own supplies anyway.

I just spent the weekend at Riverside and we didn't use the soap or shampoo since we bring our own. The housekeeper left another set on the table!

I had a huge amount of Mickey soaps, lotions, caps at the Polynesian in August. And if I remember correctly, I had a fair amount of shampoo and soap at my stays at POR. In fact, I have a vanity drawer full of them. I may have to bring some with me on this coming trip to AllStarMusic!!! Heaven knows I won't be getting more than a soap or two there

We have stayed at every Disney hotel on property except for Allstar Movies. All the moderates have given us both lotion and shampoo and usually more than we need. Just found it different this time.

We were at the Poly three weeks ago. We don't use the WDW toiletries but I do bring it all home for the local shelter. The mousekeeper was more then generous. We had 3 adults and one child in the room and got at least 5 bottles of each every day. I had brought a carryon with wheels to bring some souveniers home. The entire thing was filled with Mickey toiletries. I must have had 30lbs of the stuff easily!

I have only received a lotion at the deluxe, never at the value and moderates. I have only received one of each thing every day and if I called mousekeeping they would bring extras.

I got a ton of soap and shampoo at CSR in August. We never requested it. Every day I'd go into the bathroom and there would be more soap and shampoo stacked on top of the toilet and sink. I brought home 8 bars of soap and 6 bottles of shampoo. Maybe it was because we were tipping?

I always bring my own moisturizing soap and shampoo. I find the Disney shampoo tangles up my hair too much. The only places I've gotten the lotion was at the deluxes.

Wow, if you really want some of that shampoo I've got a whole bag full from my trip 2 years ago! My daughter loves the bottles, but they're too drying for my tastes. Last year we were given TONS! Maybe you just had a lackluster Mousekeeper?

My younger brother, age 23, always asks for the same 'souviners' each time I go to disney "a big lolly pop, shower caps, soaps, lotions, and the shampoo/conditionar/bodywash/mouthwash all in ones" (because really - that stuff is just terrible! it's like colored water)

anyway - I went in 1999, 2001, and just recently in 2003...I brought him back a TON of stuff including chocolates concierge left on our pillows...he was in heaven. (I was nice and threw in a mickey icon martini glass as well!) He said he doesn't have to buy soap unil 2005...and I think he's right. I brought home a TON of stuff for him. we stayed at WL and AKL...yes deluxes, but mousekeeping must have given us at least 4 bottles each of shampoo/lotion each day and easily 3 bars of soap daily - and it was just my hubby and me!

There is a link on allearsnet.com (formerly wdwig.com) about sending the Mickey soaps to a lady who makes up treat bags for children with leukemia, etc. who are in Children's Hospital.

I have sent a box of these soaps/shampoos from our last 2 trips. I sure hope they help make a little kid smile.

Just a thought on what to do with your excess soaps.

Just as the others posted, we have never gotten lotion except at Deluxe resorts.

You can always call Housekeeping if you need additional shampoo. Many people use their own personal brand and never use the Disney shampoo so I am sure they only put out a small amount.

Once upon a time many years ago you got these items at ALL WDW Resorts. Gradually they have cut back.

I am absolutely sure that in 1995 we got lotion in our room at the All Star Sports. I love the smell of the WDW lotion , although it doesn't work all that well.

Our first on-site stay was in 1993 at CBR and we did NOT get lotion, but our shampoo bottle was bigger than the ones you get now. We didn't get lotion at POR or CSR either although we did get extra shampoo and soap at POR.

Isn't it funny how we can go on and on about little bottles of lotion?

Our last trip was in July and the shampoo was exactly the same bottle as it has been since 1999. Have they been made smaller since then?

Yes, it's funny how you can talk about stuff like this. I didn't really care much because over the years we have gotten SO much stuff from all the different hotels. I love the GF toiletries the best. You just get so used to having it around I guess. I use the extra's for stocking stuffers at Christmas for my little nieces. We haven't stayed at the moderates for a number of years now so maybe they don't give you lotion anymore. But, they used to! I always bring lotion with me and this was the first time I decided I didn't need to and then we didn't have any.....oh well, the CSR was just wonderful. Great food court with really tasty food, the gift shop was nice but that little store right outside the food court is so small it took us 15-20 minutes to buy a bottle of water. They need 2 people working there or a bigger area. We will definately go back there though.....and the bus service was good too.

shampoo/comditioner, lotion, two soaps, shower cap this past week. Only one of each for use by 3 adults but what gets me is that there is no seal to say that any of them had not been opened or tampered with. I think it is a law suit waiting to happen......... mousekeeping used the red caps for eyes in a towel alligator for us
