She turned 3, but the DDP's Free, a WL Bounceback PTR

We just switched our ressie to WL, so I am now planning to buy the onyx version of the fabric you used for your DD's WL dress :)

That sounds pretty! I never saw it in that color but I bet the animals stand out more. I'd love to see it when it's done!

We got Mickey Mail! It worked out perfectly, we both happened to get home at the same today, and when we opened the mail box there it was.

We didn't even go inside before opening it up right there on the porch.

Those orange luggage tags are different than the green ones that we received in February. They look good.

Last night I finished up the Cindy dress and it came out pretty cute. I decided I really hate sewing costume satin but the end result is pretty good.

I sure hope it fits! It looks like it's going to hit her about her ankle or a little higher which is ok so she doesnt get caught up in it. It also looks like the peplums are crooked in the picture but I promise you they are perfectly even :-) Oh and that big ole bow in the back hides that the back doesn't line up perfecly. I think the "fairy godmother" did a pretty good job.

Another neat thing to happen this week is we got a new camera. We upgraded our older Olympus e-510 digital SLR that had gotten sand in it to a Canon 6D. We've been looking at nice SLRs for some time now, and the 6D just had all of the features we wanted, including built in WiFi to transfer pics. Melissa will still use her Olympus PEN for carrying in her purse, but when we want to get out a big camera, this one should be a lot of fun.

I can't wait to play with it at Disney!

Allie_6D.jpg

We also ordered Photo Pass + because I am not handing my new camera to anyone... His name is Bubba by the way. Anyway I just got shipping notification today on that so we have more Disney mail on the way!
Next up we get to go dig the suitcases out of the shed! Wish Paul luck on that one ;-)

I'm on it!... 29 days to go, let's start packing!!!

The Cinderella dress is beautiful! You did a fantastic job!!!

We recently upgraded our DSLR to the T5i. Still getting used to it but loving the touch screen. I am like you, I can't wait to play with it on our trip!!! That is awesome that the 6D has WiFi! Do you have to use the special WiFi memory card too or does the camera do everything so you can use the standard SD cards?

Just caught up. I wish I could sew, your daughter & the dresses are adorable! I have to buy all DD's dresses on etsy. She's getting older now she wants some say in the dresses but, at least she still likes to wear them to make me happy ;). We are staying at the WL also, we have never stayed anywhere else, every time I try to book another...I get sucked back in :)

Thank you! I think it came out cute and I think Allie will like it. It's all lined on the inside so it won't have the problem of being itchy like the dresses they sell in the parks. Congrats! New cameras are so much fun :-) It was so funny when we bought it I was looking forward to using it in Florida so much that it completely slipped my mind I can use it at Disneyland before our trip so now I'm looking forward to making time to get down to Anaheim.

The 6D's WiFI is built in, so we can use any SD card. We just got a WiFi SD card for our other camera and are enjoying it. We are definitely having fun with the 6D and can't wait to play with it at the Wilderness Lodge. It doesn't have the touch screen that the T5i does, but we are getting used to how the menus and navigation work.

Welcome! Allie is only 3 and she has a lot of say in what she wears! I wouldn't be surprised if one day during our trip she completely refuses to wear what I picked. Your trip is so close! You must be getting so excited, we would love to be able to stay Club Level sometime.

We looked at other resorts too, and just love WL.. It would be really hard to beat for us. We're glad you're following along. Your trip is coming up really soon, I bet you just can't wait!

The dress looks great! I'm not brave enough to attempt sewing with costume satin.

I have used satin a couple times and I thought I would conquer it with this Cindy dress but alas I still HATE it, lol. I'm not saying this will be the last time because I'm sure something else will come up but really it's a pain in the patootie.

Last night we had dinner at the mall where there just happens to be a "Mickey Store", I had the brainy idea of making a dress out of a Planes t-shirt for when we go see the movie tonight. So I whipped this up last night. It only took me an hour and a half which could be a record. Allie loves it and we can't wait to go see the movie tonight!

It is pretty neat, and to have it done before the movie came out was cool. It is also another fun dress for Disneyworld in just 27 days!

We are so excited! I have so much to do but haven't gotten much done other than reading trip reports and ordering stuff.:upsidedow I scrimp and save all year for us to stay at CL, we don't do it for the food because it's just soo much food and we always seem to miss all of it anyway. They are just the best on the 7th floor.

Funny with the suitcases...ours are in the crawl space attic and I have to hold my breathe every time DH has to go get them:sad2:

Your pretty Princess will be gorgeous in the dress, great job! :thumbsup2 I love your new camera, I need one, just don't know what I want.

You just whipped up that dress. I hate you a little. J/k of course. She is a lucky girl to have such a talented mommy.

Someday we may do CL at WL. We have heard how wonderful they are there. For now we are glad to get to stay at WL at all, even in a standard room. It is just such a wonderful resort.

I think I can see the suitcases, but they aren't in the house yet...

Aww thank you. Allie loves to dress up so we think she will really enjoy BBB. Having a bunch of other dresses to wear so she isn't stuck with shorts should keep her happy too.

We thought about the camera for a long time too. Our first digital SLR was great and in general we love Olympus, but we wanted something more advanced so we basically had the Nikon vs Canon decision to make. We have more friends that shoot Canon and we liked the feel of the Canon cameras we held in stores. We always were seeing what the current Costco deal was, and usually talked ourselves out of it. With the 6D it just had everything we wanted, so we felt better spending the money knowing there wouldn't be that next level up that we would still be wanting. It is kind of like Disney resort pricing, there are always a lot of nice benefits to help justify the step up to the next level. We sure are looking forward to taking it with us.

You just whipped up that dress. I hate you a little. J/k of course. She is a lucky girl to have such a talented mommy.

Lol, I'm glad you don't hate me too much.:lmao: It is probably almost the tenth dress I have made using that pattern. They go together pretty quick, and it gets quicker with practice.
Here is the pattern that I used. I really like her clothes, and it is neat she sells the patterns too.

Thank you so much for the compliment and following along.

I finally checked the Small World dress off of my to do list last night. I added some fabric I got on our Utah trip and added about 2 and a half inches to the bottom of the dress which made the length perfect.

We even got Allie to model it!. You can also see that she is standing in front of the suitcases, which I brought in so we can start packing. It is getting closer!

Yes, he found his way out of the shed! Oh and Allie loves this dress, no tears at all when I asked her to try it on. I also wrote my entire to do list on the front of our hutch so I won't forget any of the projects I want to get done before we leave.

The trim pulls in the colors of the small world print and really ties it all together nicely. I can see why Allie loves it. I can't wait to see what the rest of her dresses are going to look like. :goodvibes

MIA at WDW and what do I come back to? A wonderful update with new dresses and smiles:)

Me, too!

It never gets old getting something from Disney - even an email makes me excited and makes your trip seem more real.

The dress is fab! Glad we got to see your last satin creation!?

We used our new Canon Rebel T3i this trip, but it doesn't have the WiFi function which would be very nice. I'm eager to hear what you think of that. We didn't purchase PP+ this trip, but we did last August and we enjoyed it. It does compel you to stop all the time to have everyone take your photo, but it's a great keepsake and makes for a great Christmas card;). Make sure you get your attraction photos uploaded to your card.

Nothing plain about that Planes dress. You work faster than Disney Merch. Corp! Did you get comments on it at the movie? What did you think of the movie?

Your trip is coming up so soon! I noticed a lot of September Lodgers in the Log. Allie will have a lot of admirers.

It turned out beautiful! And no tears makes it even better for you. You have to get a photo in front of the Mary Blair CR mural.

Love the Ferrari luggage (is the symbol backwards?) Will it get there before all the other luggage?

Thank you! We are glad that the colors worked out, because it definitely wasn't part of the initial plan for that dress. Once it turned out to be too short we started looking for fabric, since I had used up all of the matching fabric that I already had.

Before the trip we'll post photos of all the dresses as we pack them. :cool1:

That small world dress is simply adorable and your model is so cute. :goodvibes

Oh thank you, we think she's cute too, but are kind of biased...

The dress is fab! Glad we got to see your last satin creation!?

I sure hope it's my last run in with satin, that stuff is awful! Between the unraveling and then melting it with the iron I felt like I was back to my beginning sewing days.

So far the WiFi is pretty neat. It works similar to how the WiFi SD card works in other cameras, but there is a Canon app and it works with any SD card. We're also getting used to the new camera too, and so far we are loving it. You can also shoot remotely with your smartphone using the WiFi, so that is pretty nifty too.

Nothing plain about that Planes dress. You work faster than Disney Merch. Corp! Did you get comments on it at the movie? What did you think of the movie?

No comments on the dress at the movie, but Allie loves it. We really enjoyed the movie.

Cars is still my favorite movie ever, but I really thought Planes was well done. The storyline was really cute, and there was a lot of humorous parts to it. The animation quality was probably sub-Pixar quality, but it is one we will definitely be buying on DVD.

I LOVED planes... maybe a little more than cars? I can totally relate to Dusty's fear of heights and the movie just made me laugh... alot. My favorite character is El Chupacabra and it cracks me up when Allie says "I swish my cape at you"

That is hilarious, and she totally picked it up from the movie.

My favorite movie ever is Top Gun and I love the references to that movie too.

Your trip is coming up so soon! I noticed a lot of September Lodgers in the Log. Allie will have a lot of admirers.

We can't wait. We are hoping for low crowds like last year, but we'll be so glad to be there that it won't matter. It is neat that so many people on the boards have signed up.

It turned out beautiful! And no tears makes it even better for you. You have to get a photo in front of the Mary Blair CR mural.

Love the Ferrari luggage (is the symbol backwards?) Will it get there before all the other luggage?

What a good idea! We will try to get over to the CR while she's wearing it.

That is funny about the luggage. It actually is a Heys logo, but it totally looks like a Ferrari logo, especially on that color. You are very observant, I looked it up and the animal is reversed. It looks like the Heys logo is a Lion, and Ferrari is a Horse, but they are super similar except for the direction they face. That bag is our brand new replacement for the one that lost its wheels last trip...
