She turned 3, but the DDP's Free, a WL Bounceback PTR

Cutest dresses and cutest DD! What wonderful memories and I love your fabric swatches. You'll have to post your WL fabric to the thread, I know everyone will love it. And yes, DH needs a shirt, too;)

Ahh thanks! We ordered the embroidery pattern for the WL logo so we'll have something neat to post to the thread as soon as it gets done.

Last night I was finally able to get some sewing done. It's not specifically for the trip but it is Disney so I thought I'd share. It's just a quick dress out of a tshirt I got on clearance at the Disney Store. Allie loves these dresses and they only take an hour or so to put together so it's a win win.

Thank you so much, I'm blushing  I do love sewing and I someday I hope to have enough time to sew enough to sell but for right now it's strictly a hobby that helps me unwind. :coffee:
Thanks for following and welcome!

:). I look forward to reading about your next trip, I enjoyed the last one!

We have a bit of a dilemma for our trip this year. We are trying to decide whether or not to do MNSSHP. There are two parties while we are there, one on Tuesday which we have a 7:00 pm ADR at Akershus and the other is on Friday when we have a 6PM ADR at BOG. So, if we did it Friday would probably be the ideal day but the question is should we spend the extra money on it?

Last year we decided not to do the party and before the trip I was concerened that we might run out of things to do on those nights with the early MK closing times. It worked out fine though, and we never really felt like we were missing out. We did catch some of the fireworks one night on our way back from Epcot.

After reading about it on the DIS it sounds like fun and Allie was really into trick or treating last year but she can be moody so you never know. She'll also be a year older so she might be better.

I know people really enjoy it, but I am wondering if it is worth the price when we already have tickets for all the other parks that night, and plenty of other things to do. Also it is still a month before Halloween, so Trick or Treating seems odd, but candy is good whenever. I still wonder if it would be better to apply over $100 towards our APs for next year...

So what do you think? Any strong opinions one way or another? Is this a must-do event or will we be ok to go another year not knowing exactly what we are missing?

There will be two MVMCP's while we are there in December and we decided not to go to it. But I've thought about making a dinner reservation at MK on a party night. Then we would be able to get a peek at what is going on during the party while we are being escorted out after dinner. ;)

One good thing is that you have plenty of time to decide if you want to get tickets. :)

I have not done the Halloween or Christmas parties yet, but from what I have read and heard, it is supposed to be great- Disney lovers should do them at least once!

Just read your trip report and it was awesome. We are taking our 2 1/2 year old in September for a short trip (and again in Feb right before she turns three, gotta take advantage of free) so you had lots of great tips. My parents will be along too and yours doing their own thing was a good reminder that we dont have to do 24/7 together.

Your daughters outfits were perfect and you are clearly very talented. Unfortunately I literally failed home ec in high school so there is no hope for us : ).

If you don't mind me asking do you have any tips on sleeping in the same room? As it is now mine will only sleep in a bed so we will have naps and nighttime in the same room.

Great! We are so glad you enjoyed our trip report and are along for the fun for this trip. We are also really glad you found it helpful. Looking back it feels like we spent a lot of time with all of us together, so the time for everybody to do their own thing was important. Grandma and Grandpa loved the trip and were just talking about how they wouldn't change a thing.

As for sleeping we found that Disney is different. They use so much energy and are so excited that we didn't have to worry about getting her to fall asleep, she just did. We are lucky in that she is used to sleeping in the stroller, so that's where her naps were when she decided to take one. We never forced the issue though. When she was asleep in the room she was so knocked out that nothing we did was going to wake her up, even Mickey on the TV. Getting her up in the mornings was the more difficult part. We are glad we didn't have many early ADRs and didn't do rope drop.

Have fun on your trips, and as long as you go at the kid's pace life will be better for everyone.

That might be our plan. If we don't do the party on Friday it will be starting as we head out from BOG, so we'll see what's going on.

We will definitely do it someday, but we aren't sure that this year at WDW is the time. We might consider doing the Halloween party at DL once we get home.

We have been Disneyland Annual Passholders for a while and have really enjoyed having our premium passes so that we didn't have to be concerened with blackout days, parking, and we get discounts on food and merchandise. Last trip we were considering not renewing our Disneyland passes because the price had just gone up quite a bit and we were stretching the budget because of the DisneyWorld trip.
While on the trip we figured out that if we upgraded our 10 day parkhoppers to Premier passes (good on both coasts) the upgrade cost would be less than what renewing our Premium Passes back home would be by about 200 dollars a piece saving $400.

premier_pass.jpg

This meant that by applying the money we already spent on our WDW trip park tickets, we upgraded to the Premier pass and actually saved money over just renewing our DL passes.

Looking at our ticket options for this time, we had planned on using out APs for the first portion of the trip, and then using the park tickets from our MYW package for the second part of the trip. We could then do the upgrade again if we decided to. One snag in this plan is Allie's pass, which she got after she turned 3 and we have not yet upgraded to a Premier. The upgrade cost for her would be $200 but that's still cheaper than buying her park admission for the first half of our trip.

However, we just figured out that if we upgrade our MYW tickets at the beginning of our trip to Premier Passes for all three of us it would save that $200.

Basically it works out to saving $200 but having our new passes expire 5 days sooner. The question becomes, are five days of passes for the three of us in September 2014 worth $200 now? We aren't very likely to be back in Florida in Sept 2014, so it probably isn't an issue, but it is worth thinking about.

Instead that $200 could be used for other things like MNSSHP tickets or Photopass or general trip expenses this year. What do you think?

Just wanted to pop in and say hello! :) So exciting you guys are heading back, and your family is adorable! Maybe we will run into each other at Wilderness Lodge, too! :goodvibes

We are planning on going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I have heard it's an absolute blast, people go all out for costumes, the parade is amazing, there's TONS of trick or treating, dance parties, meet and greets, and the fireworks are neat, too!

I think if Allie likes characters and trick or treating, it'd be worth the money, especially if you guys don't think you'll be back to Disney World in September of 2014. :thumbsup2 Plus, you can at least get an AP discount on the tickets! I think it brought it down to around $60 per ticket for us. Expensive, but I'm excited to check it out.

Hi, we're glad you found us over here! We were both excited that you took the time to say hello. We are loving your current TR, just like last year it helps us pass the time till September.

Yeah, the party does sound like fun, and Allie really figured out the concept of trick or treating last year. Saving the $200 by doing the passes differently would more than cover it, so yeah, we have to decide.

If you see us in the lobby or anywhere at WDW say hi! :wave2:

Here is another sewing update. So I was fabric shopping looking for fabric for that princess dress that's on my list for Akershus but nothing was talking to me. Then I found this:
sw_fabric_1.jpg

I had immediate inspiration and if there's one thing I've learned when the fabric starts talking you have to listen. I've started putting it together and I can't wait to show you when it's done. Can anyone guess the theme? Hint: it's not on my sewing list...

Allie's definitely on board with this one...

That pattern reminds me of Mary Blair's artistry, like at IASM and the CR mural. I love the photo of Allie "helping you" and what is the Disney emblem on your sewing machine?

Yeah we have a winner! I thought it looked like Mary Blair too. I lover her art and Allie loves Small World. That fabric line is designed by Cynthia Rowley whom I also love. I found appliqué patterns for 10 Small World kids. Allie likes watching the machine embroider and sometimes she'll sit on my lap and watch me sew. Yes that is Mickey you see on my machine. That particular one is a Brother SE-270D and it came with some Disney designs pre-loaded. It was a wedding gift and my first machine. ~Melissa

Today we're extra excited for our trip because our countdown is under 100 days! :cool1:

Now it is time to print out a countdown chain. We did it last year and Allie really got into it. We'll post pics once we have it cut out and taped together.

Love the Rapunzel dress!! I so wish I could sew! It would save me so much money!! :(

I am kind of torn about the Halloween party too- I have heard its worth it to do it, even if you only do it once.. :)

I don't know what to dress as! That's my dilemma!
