Has anyone ever had an experience with a person who seemed to be nice to you one day and then flat out insulted you the next? There is a lady I know at my church who seems to go out of her way to give gifts to people on their birthdays and anniversaries, and even "just because". I often think she does it because she is insecure and is trying to buy friends. Well, I have been the recipient of her gifts in the past, but I've always questioned her motives for giving them to me because we aren't close in any way. I've also heard from someone else that she's talked bad about me behind my back when I never did anything to her.
Two weeks ago she brought me a vase of roses and said it was because she feels so badly because she thinks she is always bossing me around, calling me to tell me what to put in the church bulletin and such (I'm the secretary). I told her I never felt like she bossed me, and flowers were unnecessary but appreciated. She was like all huggy and everything. A week later, though, she outright insulted me in front of several people, and I was like "What is up with that?"
I guess I either want someone to like me or not like me, but I can't stand this wishy-washy stuff. I just don't know what to make of her. Whenever I'm around her I feel like I've got to watch my back.
Thanks for letting me vent,
Liz
