She Crab Soup

When visiting HH, we tried this type of soup and loved it! Any suggestions on what resturants to try next time?

Chef Gordon has She Crab soup on his menu for "private affair" at the Hilton Head DVC resort.

I haven't tasted Gordon's version (can't bear to not have his crab cakes!), but I'd be willing to bet it's great!

We had She Crab soup at Charley's Crab earlier this month and it was very good!

About two years ago we ate at Hudsons in HH and their She Crab soup was excellent. This is a favorite restaurant among the locals, so the waits can be long, but the food is definitely worth it.

While it is not She Crab, we had Conch Chowder at Scotts that was excellent!!!!

We were there for 5 days last year, I had it everywhere and loved it

If you make it into Charleston, they have some great seafood restaurants.

For a (relatively) inexpensive meal, try the fast food place about 1 mile from Disney HHI on 278....I believe the name is something like Captain's Quarters or Captain Jack's. It's a bit of a wooden shack, but the seafood was good and reasonably priced.

The Oyster Shack....which is large and a bit touristy also had very good she Crab Soup. Honestly though, there were 3 other restaurants that had it and not one was bad....they were, however, each unique....I found the recipes for she crab varied more that you will find the recipes for New England Clam Chowder vary. Just enjoy the exploration!
