Anyone else remember that show (I think it was called Captain Marvel, or something), along with it's sister show ISIS.
I remember getting up early on Saturday morn. with my brother, racing to the TV, and watching these shows. I would love to see an epsido now. I can just imagine how corny the acting probably is (like watching an old Batman show):rotfl:

I remember Shazam!!! It was a teenager and he would say "Shazam" and turn into his alter ego, Captain Marvel. The suit he wore was red with a yellow lightning bolt. :happytv:

Oh mighty ISIS. (in an echo sound: isis isis isis)

I loved that show. Shazaam was on first then ISIS. As a girl, Shazaam bored the heck out of me. But ISIS, I envied that necklace.

I loved the show Isis ... I was really into Egyptian history and thought the show was great. In fact I was so interested in it that my mom stopped letting me watch it because it was about a goddess. I also really liked Land of the Lost. Those were two of my favorite shows on Saturday. When they went off the air I had to go back to Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner, which was good too. Thanks for posting the links to the show sites.

Yes, I remember Shazam!! I love the web site that was mentioned. What a blast from the past. I always secretly wanted to be Electra Woman and I always wanted a WONDERBUG!!

I was too busy being a He-man groupie. No one could call me when he was on -- no one!!!

With the extra "a" I first thought Gomer Pyle also.

I loved the old "Shazam!" live action show way back when.

A bit of trivia about Captain Marvel --

Back in the 1940s he was a more popular character (in terms of sales anyway) than Superman.

His facial appearance was modeled after actor Fred MacMurray.

The original publisher, Fawcett Comics, ceased publication because of a copyright infringement lawsuit by DC Comics, publisher of Superman.

The rights to Captain Marvel and all related characters are currently owned by (wait for it) DC Comics :rolleyes1 Thing is, they can't publish a comic titled "Captain Marvel" because Marvel Comics published a comic called "Captain Marvel" with a completely different character during the years the original Captain Marvel was out of print. That's why they use the title "Shazam!"

He also inspired a character called Marvelman in the UK back in the 50s after Fawcett ceased publication, because reprints were so popular over there. Don't get me started on the more recent legal brouhaha involved with that character, though. If you want to know, search wikipedia for Marvelman or Miracleman.
