Okay, so I was at Sam's Club this weekend and they were demonstrating this set of 10 knives. They demonstrated a similar set around Christmas last year and I didn't buy them. Mom was with me so we decided to get a set (10 knives for $50+ tax comes out to about $5.30 per knife). 4 steak knives, 2 paring knives and 4 other mixed knives.

Has anyone here gotten them before? I read some good reviews although some people say they rust.

Do they truly not dull? Never need sharpening? Thanks!

We bought some at Sam's 4 years ago and I still have the large knive and it is still sharp and the one I use all of the time. It came with a set but we somehow managed to loose all of the others in the Christmas wrapping paper. We only paid around $20 or so but we only got like 6 knives. I don't know if they are the same or not. Sam's had others last year that were different.

I vaguely remember the ones they demonstrated last year which had a black handle. And I remember they threw in some restaurant.com gift certificates (which had no value to me).

The ones I got are supposed to be one large piece of steel, carved into a knife (so that there is no separate handle).

This is the one I got:

The only concern with these knives is the incidence of rusting which will happen with almost any knives if you allow them to sit in water or against a steel wool pad. This is not good for knives or finder cookware. Clean your knives immediately, dry them and put them away. This is good practice for safety reasons as well as the care of your knives. Just because something has a lifetime guarantee doesn't mean you should be careless with it or neglect it in any way.
These knives are a great value for the money! The filet knife is one of the best I have ever used, and I am a trained chef.

Happy cutting and cooking!:wave2:

BTW just because something is dishwasher safe, this does not advise that you put it in the dishwasher for best results.
I NEVER put kinives or plastic food saver containers in the dishwasher.
