HI! I was wondering if anyone had done the shark encounter at Sea World and their opinion of it. I am thinking of doing it on our trip in April.
Also, how much time would it take us to tour Sea World. There are 3 adults 2kids ages almost 7 and 4. We want to have lunch with Shamu also at 11:30If we do the encounter I am trying to see how it fits in the day as it is 2 hours.
Thanks!!

The shark encounter is pretty cool, my cousin hates fish.. I mean really hates them, but she enjoyed it, when she wasnt to close to the tanks. It pretty cool getting to look into the tanks from up above.

Here is the delema. There is A LOT of walking and talking in the shark encounter. The two hours is mostly walking around and listen to the sea world people talk. Boring at some parts, but the cool stuff makes up for it.

As long as it is not extremely busy you should be fine, if you get the times for each of the show ahead of time, you can go ahead and plan your day. I have never had lunch with Shamu, so I cant help you there.

What time are you planning on going in April? Near the beginning is when it gets busy usually, its florida kids spring break and even other states, big vacation time.

Hope this helps.. :)

Thanks! I would love to do the encounter and be under the water with the sharks (in the cage of course)! You can already pick your time and buy tix on line. We are going first week of April so I would like to get tix in advance as it is a busy time. Problem is I have no idea of show times etc then. We would eat lunch at 11:30 til about 12:30 so that leaves us with the 2,3 or 4pm shark dive. It is 2 hours long and my husband would have the kids to occupy. I think being at the park til 6 is to long so maybe we will do the 2 and probably miss a show. Would that leave enough time to see most of sea world? 9-11:30 then 12:30-2 and leave park at 4.

Yeah you should have enough time, im guessing since you have younger kids you arent planning on going on any of the roller coasters then? Without that stuff, you should have enough time. Go to the sealion show, that was always my favorite
