Hi everyone!

My fiance and I are going to Universal for our honeymoon (June 30th-July 7th), and we wanted to spend a day at SeaWorld. My fiance has always said that he wants to dive with sharks ( !!!), and I just saw that they have a shark dive at SeaWorld. I was wondering if anyone has ever done the shark dive before. I really think he would like it, and I was considering booking it for both of us. However, some of the pictures make the gap in the cage look big!! Also, is it worth the $$? The available times are running out quickly, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS :goodvibes

The whole experience lasts an hour. You get about 30-45 minutes in the water after learning about sharks and their behavior. The cage does have some rather large gaps and the smaller sharks can squeeze in, and I have seen them do it.
The dive equipment is really comfortable, not your standard mask and goggles, but a dive helmet. I've used these before, and while they are easier to use, if you are claustorphobic(sp?) they tend to make you freak out at first because of the way they surround your head. But once you get used to it, took me 5 minutes, its awesome.
I've also seen the cage move around on a track, so you get to see different parts of the tank and you can see the Shark Encounter exhibit. We are most likely going to do this for our son who will be 10 in October as he loves Discovery Cove and is begging me to let him go Scuba Diving with me......

That makes me feel a little better since you might let your son go. However, I am a little nervous about those "smaller" sharks getting in  What happened when the small sharks came in? Did they swim back out?

Hi there isn't a gap its clear plastic/glass, did this in April with my son the dive itself lasts 2 hours, the first 30 mins u get a talk about the equipment and the sharks you will see, your guide also answers any questions you have, you then get changed into your wet suit and you get transported to the tank from there u are introduced to the people in charge of your dive the dive takes 2 people so if u are doing it solo u may share it, the photographer takes a pic of u in your gear, then u need to bend and let the helmet be lowered onto yourself then u step off and float into the tank, which by the way I found the scariest part as I can't swim, once in the tank you need to remember that if u move your head without moving your body then the water will come in the helmet but when u straighten up the water drains away, the cage then moves to the center slowly, it stops in middle for about 5 mins then continues on to the end then back again , it truly is a great experience, my wife and daughter watched us in cager from the sharks underwater grill, once u are finished u are taken back to shower and change towels, soap etc are all provided, hope that helps

On the gap issue, I never noticed any, although I suppose there could have been
