Not sure is this is the right place to post but here goes -

There is another thread that asks what we could do to spread the magic.

I am wondering if we have extra food vouchers left over from our free dining vacations if we would be allowed or able to give them to other people that are coming in? I understand that they would have to use them that particular day, as we are checking out but is that allowed?

I was in line for check in one day and a lady was going around passing out free day tickets to the parks. Naturally I had an AP and did not need them but I thought that was so nice.

They are not vouchers, but are encoded on your room key. If you give them to someone else as you leave, believe it or not they can still do room charges that day and you will get a delayed billing on your credit card.

You would need to make sure that the room key did not have charging on it, then I don't see how it could be a problem.

It's possible, especially with no charging on your room key. While visiting in May during the celebration, there were many free tickets being give out, especially the day EPCOT closed at 3:00PM. There were several guys on our boat back to WL trying to give them away to someone who could use them. We too had APs, but the family they gave them too were thrilled. The tickets did not expire until 12/31/05 and were one day hoppers (like CMs get).

Cheshire Figment, I had not thought of the fact that someone could use the key for charging. I always get one with and one without as my dh does not like the stress of worrying if he lost his card. (sigh) I had thouht it was a seperate card like a debit card. TY

n2mm, don't cha just love it when you can make someone so happy for so little?

renessa, a friend of mine just came back and she said that a lady who was checking out took her twin daughters up to the counter serve and paid for their meal since she had extra CS vouchers. I am wondering if it might not be possible to pay in advance for a meal for someone if I had leftovers?

I just hate waste. :cool1:

I have read about people who have extra snacks credits on thier last day, getting people who are just arriving or are in line, etc... getting them a snack. The people on the dining plan actually pay for it though, they don't just hand over their key. They just have the cashier ring it up via the dining plan and they pay for it.

On the first night of our trip last May we had a PS at Boma for dinner. While we were eating our oldest son was playing with a little boy at the table behind us. After a few minutes his mother asked if she could pay for our meal. DH and I were both sort of confused at first and didn't know what to think. She then explained that they were there on the old gold plan and had a bunch of "wishes" left to use before they checked out the next day and she would rather buy us dinner than have them go unused. We thanked her profusely and she thanked us for letting our son play with her son so she and her husband could have a quiet meal. ;) My husband still talks about that. That was his type of Disney magic.

Of course he also thought it was "Disney magic" when we got breakfast at Chef Mickey's free the next morning too. That was less magic and more bird poop though! A bird that had apparantly gotten in through the "monorail hole" pooped on our table during our meal and the manager comped our breakfast because of it. He refers to that as Disney magic despite me repeatedly telling him that free meal or not, bird poop on your mickey waffle does not qualify as "Disney magic!"

I enjoyed reading about these stories. When you eat at H&V the waiter often gives you a to go cup of soda. With what soda costs in the park I often feel guilty as I do not like soda. Last trip we ran into a lovely family from England and after talking to them awhile their little girl said she was thirsty and I offered my untouched drink to her. She took it with her parents permission. Scary thing is I did not think about it until later but I might not take a drink from a stranger myself. Is sad, as the vast majority of people are good.

Since I do not get to see my granddaughters (long and sad story) I often dream of going into one of the shops and buying some little girl a Minney Mouse or Princess dress just for the joy of it but fear that the parents might be offended. Hopefully one day I will be there with a child I know and I can fulfill that fantasy.

I am looking forward to passing on some of the magic on some future trip. Bet it will be hard to assure the people that it is legal and on the up and up though. I often have trouble passing on FP's. I will have to work on looking more trustworthy. :rotfl:

I think that's great when people do these things. I gave away two convention tickets that had one day each left on them about a year ago for the same reason. I also at another time gave away the unused DisneyQuest portion of our tickets so a mom and her son could go in.

I know you are not supposed to "share" tickets but I thought it a shame for it to go to waste when someone could use it.

I haven't given any big magic, but I always grab some fast passes as we leave a park and give them to someone as we leave. Makes me feel like Tink, and they always smile. :wizard:

Hmmmm, I was going to say that you could vacation at the same time w/ my princess anytime, but you're probably right that I would think it a little funny that a stranger wanted to do something like that. (Of course, I am more cynical than most as my husband is in law enforcement and I "prosecute the offenders.") Then again, shouldn't we just be thankful for magic at WDW?

Keokagal, ever notice that it seems that a few people tend to 'to it all' while so many others do nothing? IMO, it is not that people do not care but they seem to think that only the big deeds are worth doing. Is so very wrong. A whole bunch of little things add up to far more than the few can do on their own. I am proud of you for passing on FP's. It takes effort, most toss them.

GeorgiaAristocat, this is exactly why I do not do as I wish. I had an awful experience in WM the other day. A little girl in a shopping cart smiled and said hello to me and her mom went ballistic. It broke my heart. I understood the fear in the mom and even made a statement to the little girl about her mom being right and wanting to protect her. I am a Pooh sized grandma type but I guess you cannot trust anyone. It breaks my heart that our children are having to grow up with fear. I volunteer at a local school and I do hug kids, IF they ask for one, BUT only with witnesses around.

ceecee, quit that laughing gal! You just gotta know that DW poop is better than any other kind. LOL

AdventurerKat, did you have a hard time giving the free passes away? I often have to ask several people before someone will take a FP.

It warms the cockles of my heart, wherever they might be, to read of all the kindnesses shown here.

I did this with Splash FP last trip. Had them in my hand and we decided to not wait the 15 minutes (tired kids and my DH doesn't like thrill rides. So he was all for "let's go back to the pool). The first person I found took them (looked for a party of four walking in), but I did have to tell them what they were for.

we had so many snacks that my dd asked if we could buy the kids behind us a popcorn . they were so happy (mom too ) thn on the way out we had 7 tt fp for the time we were keaving gave them to a "dad" w/ a bunch of 11-12 boys they were jumping and screaming Hurry up lets go!! it was so nice to see something little go a long way :flower:

We always work with our dd's on 'making magic' and not just receiving it. So much so that in just two trips, my oldest dd is actively looking for ways to make magic. She has bought a package of princess lollies for our upcoming trip so she can hand them around when waiting for parades and such. I figure that if it's pre-packaged and she asks the parents if its okay then it can't do any harm.

We've been handed so much magic on our three trips and lots of it has come from other park-goers. It always brightens our day and I'm constantly learning new ways to assist others. We have done the fast pass thing, more as an accident than anything, but I will try to remember to do it on purpose next trip :teeth:

We had a woman buy my dds lunch with a q&c voucher last november. It was her last day and she didn't want it to go to waste. The girls were absolutely tickled. We had a mom at the pool go and refill our mugs for us just because our kids were playing together and she was headed that way and then we had the family next door to us at Pop stop and offer to bring me stuff from the food court each night since they knew dd and I were there alone and dd was already asleep. It was so thoughtful of them.

::MickeyMo We still had a bunch of Snack credits left on the day of our checkout in May. I was sitting in the lobby at Pop Century killing time and decided to give away some ice cream. :mickeybar LOL I found a Mom and 2 of her kids who were very happy to receive some free Mickey bars, while waiting for the rest of their family to check in. Same day, I gave away the untouched chocolate cake dessert from Counter Service (couldn't eat another thing) to a teen boy eating by himself in the food court.

::MickeyMo Bit off topic, but they also sold the Pool Noodles for $4.00 in the gift shop. I bought one to use as a float and then gave it away at the end of the week as well. I found a dad with 2 daughters one morning at the Hippy Dippy Pool. I'm sure they had a great time with it and maybe passed it on as well. LOL :flower: Rebecca

Am I the only one to notice that sometimes the biggest magic at DW is the people you meet and the wonderful memories we have of them forever more? The place just brings out the best in people. Where else can you sit down on a bench with a stranger, time after time, and find a connection?

I guess the biggest magic I have ever been able to do for anyone is making a trip to the WM to bring back an immersion coil for a family next door to us who was in sore need.

I often feel badly when I am driving to a park and see a lone couple in line but it is not a good idea to pick up strangers , or for them to get in a strange car, even at DW.

I have saved seats at the Mexican counter serve place for a couple, the hubby was in a wheel chair. We met them earlier in the day. I think they were surprised when they found us actually there holding seats for them. I saved seats over the train station for a family once but they did not show up. Others were happy to take their place though.

What goes around, comes around and it is much better to pass around good stuff.

Great idea of passing on the food credits (although I doubt Disney would think so ;) ). I thought of passing on the extra CS credits we will have at the end of our trip but for the snack credits, I am going to the food court and buying mickey rice krispie treats to take back for my DGS's preschool group. I am still leary of giving someone a card with my full name on it. But we will probably do it.
