Sharing Skillet at WC?

I understand that the AYCE skillet is meant for one person, however, since the food is brought to you by your server, and they can control the quantity you receive, are you allowed to share the skillet with someone else as long as the server knows in advance that you will be sharing, and doesn't bring any refills? I may be completely mistaken in my impression of this meal, but if they only bring one serving, you should be allowed to share it, just like any other single portion meal, right?

I'm pretty sure you cannot do this. It clearly states "per person" in the pricing.

It's definitely per person--sorry! Enjoy ayway!

The AYCE skillet isn't meant for just one person, although one person could order it. Its priced "per person" and they bring as much food as you would like them two. The skillet we started with was the same size for the two of us as it was for the table of 4 next to us. We ate all of a couple of the items on our skillet and they brought more. I can't see how it would be "sharable"

If the other person is ordering their own meal and just wants to try some of the skillet options, I'm sure that would be fine. But you couldn't just order the skillet and split it between two people.

Thanks for the replies, obviously, I haven't been there before, and I had the impression that each person who ordered would receive their own skillet, not just one skillet to share, and more brought out as needed.

What happens if only one or two people at a table of, say, four order the skillet, and everybody else orders something else? How do they know they aren't "sharing"?

I guess I'll just have to suck it up and order a burger from the kids menu for my 10 yr old. Even double price ( which is ludicrous) is cheaper than $21.99 for a meal she would eat a few bites of, or I'll order her some nacho's and call it her dinner.

We are a family of four. DH and I usually get the skillet, DD orders off the children's menu and DS is good to go with the adult menu as long as there is a good steak. It isn't a problem. My kids wouldn't really eat anything from the skillet anyway--they think it is gross.

I was under the impression that if you paid double for the child's meal than you rec'd a double portion? In July we were not charged double when DS ordered off the children's menu. If we would have been we quickly would have went to counterservice as I have issue with the age thing. I will not force my child to eat food he or she doesn't like at home or on vacation, and until they can come up with an acceptable choice for that tween age group I'll gladly eat back at the villa or off site.

Not sharing is on the honor system. FYI I just checked the pricing at AllEarsNet.com and the price for the kids to get the all you can eat skillet at dinner is $8.79. The pricing was last updated in January 2005 so it may be a bit out of date but here is a link to the kids menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_wcdk.htm

Have a good trip.

Thanks for the link, I research allearsnet.com religiously! I think the price for the children's skillet is quite reasonable. The problem is that my daughter at age 10 is now considered adult, and I do have a problem with paying $21.99 for her portion. We haven't planned a single table service meal because of the change to the children's menu age policy. I thought I might give WC a try because we do have an evening when we have nothing planned, and could look around WL as we have never been there. Unlike the buffets, WC gives us an opportunity to order an appetizer for her instead of just the set, adult price. We are also travelling with another family with children the same age as mine, so I am trying to make choices that won't upset their budget too much either. From what I've read about the interaction, I think my group would enjoy WC. Another alternative is Trail's End, and then stay for the campfire, movie and the EWP.

Would be nice, but no, no sharing of the skillet, or any all you can eat meal for that matter.

i don't know that they would care as long as you each had your own order. ie i gave husband one of my chops ( he had the skillet, i didn't) even though i didn't want any of his. it might be a problem if you asked for seconds on the skillet but everyone else's plated meal was untouched:) but if you just want bite i don't think the food police will take you away( although at wcc your waiter might just let everyone know you did it hehe)

truthfully my husband didn't really think the skillet was all that great and we liked the regular plated meals better. you( or someone else inyour party) could just a get a plated meal and split it with her , just not the skillet meal. we always did this with our kids when they hit the "too old for children but didn't eat enough for adult stage" they just got something they both liked and split it.

We were told during our trip in August that my DS11 would be charged double at CS & CRT if he ordered off the children's menu but we were not when the bill came.

Has anyone actually been charged double?
