This weekend I had the pleasure of sitting through this horrific blizzard, and though we did not get hit as hard as some others, we still got our 16 inches.

Then I woke up this morning, and it was balmy out. As I began my walk to work, I could not help but cherish the -14 degree temperature. Tankfully the wind was only blowing about 10 mph in my face so the wind chill was only -30 or so.

Then I realize that Thursday I am going to Disney World, and this saddened me. Why would I want to leave this wonderful weather? HA!

Anyone else escaping the freezing hell that is the Northeast this week?

3 days till Animal Kingdom Lodge. Woo-hoo!

So jealous!! I'm enjoying similar weather in NH (something like 20" from the blizzard this weekend) and have to wait until April.

I did however get the thrill of the supermarket this morning. The best part was that the parking lot still had about an inch of densely packed snow on it so it was a great workout pushing the tiny, sinking wheels of the carriage full of a week's worth of shopping to the car. Truly, as you say, something to cherish.

Have a great trip!

Pittsburgh here and we are leaving Fri! WOO HOO!! Its 0 degrees with at least -10 wind chill and snow...snow...snow! Can't wait to get to somewhere warmer and maybe perhaps a chance of seeing some sun! 4 more days baby!

Ouch, Pittsburgh! Brutal weather and football.

I just checked weather.com and they are saying 70 degrees when we land. I'm doing back flips.

i'm just jealous... 18 inches of the fluffy white stuff, willing to trade it for 18 minutes at wdw!

(fonzy, where in ny are you? i'm on long island)

I am SO jealous! We aren't freexing down here in Texas but I still wouldn't mind heading over to WDW!!! Enjoy yourself and I hope that you have a magical time! :sunny:

Sure had to bring up the football thing huh? LOL This town is crying in their beers today, thats for sure. Then not only did we lose our shot at the Superbowl, my DH lost 50 bucks to my BIL, and....came in this morning and found out my old boss passed away on Friday and his funeral is today and I can't go because I'm not dressed. He taught me so much about life in general not to mention business and I really feel very sad. I would like to be able to go and pay my respects, but I certainly cannot show up to a funeral in jeans and tennis shoes.

So Friday can't come soon enough for me! Mickey I need a hug!!!!

Upstate (Albany area), so we're used to it. You wimps on Long Island however?

:D

Being from Oswego County where snowfall is measured in feet, I thought that living by the ocean here in ME would be no problem. I will give the Long Islander less of a hard time if they are beach/waterfront on the open ocean side rather than the Sound. The wind blew so hard that I had snow inside my deck door that faces the water. Actually down on the beach, checking for erosion, I have never felt anything so cold on my face before and I've lived in MT in addition to Upstate. No WDW til May 29 but at least GA/SC will be warmer in March.

LOL! no ocean front... about 1/4 mile from the bay, so go ahead call me a wimp! LOL!

i'm headed up north of albany next weekend... schroon lake/pottersville... guessing i'm gonna see LOTS of snow!

Hi there - I am in Oswego County now - live in Pennellville - and we have been very lucky this year - the snow hasn't been to bad - only a few feet - not like years past - but the cold has been awful - below zero for many days - can't wait to head to WDW - April 14-23 - YEAH!!! :cool1:
