Im sure people have asked this before but my girl friends brother is going to disney world a couple of weeks before we are. I have read that there is some way to share it with family members. How do I go about doing this? Do you have 30 days to use it or just 30 days to download your pictures? thanks for your help.

Just make sure that everyone is on the Friends and Family list of the person who buys it. Once you download your first picture, you have 30 days to add more pictures. Pictures stay on your account for 45 days after they're taken.

so we have until 30 days after they use their memory maker for the first time to use it?

Can anyone on the friends and family list download the pictures?

No. Only the person who purchases it can download. People on the friends and family list can view all pics, but ultimately it's only the purchaser that can download them.

ETA: However, if the purchaser gives you or anyone else their memory maker login info, you (or anyone with the login info) can do the downloading yourself, on multiple computers. :)

From the first day they use it, there are 30 days that you can still add photos. So if for example they were going on Dec. 1st, and you were arriving on Dec. 14th, you would be fine, because you would have until the end of Dec. to take photos. Then as PP mentioned if your friend makes the password for the account, he can share it with you so you can log in before the 45 day deadline, and edit your pics , cropping and adding fun borders and titles(make sure to save as a copy so you keep your originals as well) before you are both ready to download. We as the account holders have downloaded all the pics, and then put the ones for the other party on a flash drive. Take advantage of magic shots - these are special pics that have an added effect when you see them online. For example, on Main St. you can ask for these, and they can take a shot where you hold your hands out, and later you will see Tink in your hands. They have different ones at each park. Make sure when you get back you check to see if all the photos are on there - sometimes some are missing, and you have to call to have them find them.

You really have to define the term "use it."

Essentially, you can get 75 days out of a single MM purchase. All photos are available online for 45 days. You "use" MM when you first download a photo. From that point, you have 30 more days to add photos and download them.

thank you for all this info. is the memory maker account a different account then their MDE account so it will have a different password or is it the same one?

We are going for a week and our God daughter is going to be meeting us at MK only for 1 day with her boyfriend.... because they have a wedding to go to in FL after that one day. Can I add her to our Friends and Family so they can use the MM as well? I'm not sure how the Friends and Family list all works, since I haven't been there since it all started. I just don't want her to be able to use our fastpasses or any of our dining credits, just want her to be able to be able to use Memory Maker.

Not quite - Supersnoop has the timing right:
From the first day the first family takes their first picture, they have 45 days to download that day's pictures before they expire (disappear from MDE).
From the day that first download is performed, you have 30 more days in which you can ADD pictures. Each of those must also be downloaded within 45 days from the date taken before they expire.

Use caution when trying to wait until exactly day 45 because the site is slow and you could encounter difficulties, making it a stressful experience. Although I have heard good reports about people being granted a free extension in those circumstances, I wouldn't want to oush it if I didn't have to.

The account login to view MM photos is the same one used to log in to MDE for reservations, FP, etc.

@Mckymousefn - as far as I know, once someone is in your a Friends and Family list, they do have the ability to see and change your Fastpasses and reservations. I don't think there's a way to let them share pictures but not other plans. When my family shares, I just make sure to tell them very clearly NOT to mess with anyone else's stuff!

so lets say her brother goes october 1st. He then gets home october 7th. He downloads the pictures from his trip on october 8th. does that mean i have 30 days from october 1st or october 7th to take my pictures? also is it 45 days from when that picture is taken or from when the first picture is taken?

thanks for all your help this is a bit confusing.

If he downloads on Oct 8, you will be able to add pictures through Nov 7 (30 days from the date of his first download).
He must complete the download of his pictures by Nov 14-21 (45 days after each was taken or any time sooner)
You would have to complete your downloads by 45 days from the date each of your own was taken, or any time sooner that you're ready.

Thank you very much that was easy to understand :)

@Mikie I checked on the app.... I was able to set it that she can only see and adjust things we share. So, she can't edit our fastpasses or our dining.

Thank you. Maybe my problem was that I had the same schedule (fastpasses and dining plans) with my whole family. I guess that made it "shared" plans and therefore, they were able to view and change (and could accidentally screw up our group plans if not careful!). If you were on a trip at the same time, but didn't have the same FPs or dining reservations, then your family would only be seeing the shared pictures. . .

That would make total sense! Yea, she will only be there the 1 day with us. She has different dining ressie than us as well. After we all connected on the friends and families, I looked to see if I could see her dining ressie & I couldn't and she couldn't see ours. You just have to go in and click on each person and pick what you share.
