Sharing Meals?

Does Disney frown on sharing meals? Since BF and I have the DxDp, we may not be hungry enough to get out own meal at some meals, and I was thinking if we just split the appetizer, entree and dessert, we could have a taste of everything without using up that extra meal credit. Since we have very few TS lunches planned, we may do this if we find out a TS place doesn't have a terrible wait, if we decide to try it out.

If I was going to use the deluxe plan, I'd make sure I'd use one meal per day on a Signature restaurant, and the other credit perhaps on a breakfast or early lunch. I don't tend to want more than two meals at WDW, and this wouldn't be a waste of your dining credits.

I agree completely. If we had the DxDDP, I would do a Signature each day. They are wonderful and I feel 3 sit down meals a day would be too much food for us

We did that on our dx trip.

Typically we did character bk or pasteries (snacks) for breakfast alternating.

Split lunch with app, entree, dessert it was plenty

Did signature/ Show for dinner.

We loved it- did have too many snacks left- next time I will let the kids have even more junk :rotfl2:

We've never had a problem sharing at any of the TS restaurants.

You cannot share at buffets, family style meals ,all you care to eat entrees such as the Skillet at Whispering Canyon Cafe, or at the dinner shows, CRT, and Fantasmic dining package. Everyone 3 and up will be charged. The only TS restaurant that I've consistently heard won't let people on the DDP share is Beaches 'n Cream.

Three meals a day is a lot of food and a big time commitment so we do the same as the PPs. We typically have 2 meals a day (lunch around 11:30 and dinner around 8) with a small snack in between and or at the start of the day.

Here is my schedule...its 7 nights, so 7 days of meal plan. We have accounted for 16 credits. I was just thinking on the days we are in DHS we might want to try to sit and eat at Prime Time or Sci Fi for fun, but we might not be hungry enough for a full meal. I accounted for breakfast and dinner most days (saving lunch for counter service if we are hungry).

We really prefer the two-meals a day when we do Deluxe...typically we'll do a big breakfast & "early-ish" dinner like a 5:30 meal at a 2 Credit signature restaurant. Or we do a snack breakfast (like a pastry) and then have lunch around noon or 1:00, with later dinner...again preference for signature places. On the rare days we actually do 3 restaurants in a day, we make sure there's 5-6 hours between meals (like 8 AM buffet breakfast, 1:30 lunch and 8:00 PM dinner) Especially after the first couple of days, we're so stuffed we rarely want even a split 3rd meal in a day...and we're big eaters.

And just wanted to point out...That's 17 credits you're using there...

It is really 34 credits out of 42. You'll have 8 more credits between the 2 of you to use and 28 snacks.

I notice a lot of your breakfast ADRs are right around 9am. I guess you don't plan on doing any rope drops.

Why 8 more credits? I was told it goes by the number of nights you are staying in the resort. 7 nights x 3 meals per day =21 meal credits x 2 people = 42 total meals. 2 snacks x 7 nights = 14 snack credits x 2 people = 28 credits...am I confused? Help! Been to Disney tons of times but never with DDP! Bf has done DDP but he's no help!

Sorry-didn't mean to confuse you.

The 17 credits are for 1 person. I assumed those meals listed you would each get a meal. So that would be 17 x 2 people =34 credits. You would have the 42 less those 34 gives you additional 8 credits to use.

Plus the 28 snacks.

DDxDP is a lot of food. I think DDP is a lot of food. I would probably only do DDxDP if I was going to do a lot of signature dining. You only have 3 signature meals booked.

Thanks for clearing that up, lol! I was a bit confused.:confused3

I know its a lot of food. Because its just BF and I and its possibly going to be a very important, life changing trip (I'm really really hoping to get engaged!), we decided on the deluxe plan, also the same reason we are staying at a deluxe resort and not a moderate. Plus, we really are planning on getting married, whether the engagement happens this trip or not, and I'm sure it will be our last disney trip before starting a family. This being said, we are young employed individuals now, with disposable income. We are fairly big eaters and looking at the two plans ideally something between DDP and DxDP would be ideal, but this will work.

I'm soooo excited to go to Disney again! :dance3: I haven't been since 2005 when I spent one day in EPCOT and prior to that 2003. I really need to get all my trips in my signature, but that is going to require a lot of work remembering when they all were!

I went and booked Narcoossee's as a 4th signature, lol. Then I'll be using 19/21 (or 38/42). I couldn't bear to get rid of any of my existing reservations so I booked for late enough to see wishes on our first night there. I've officially gone crazy.
