At a table service restaurant that's not pre-plated or a buffet, can two people share a entree??? Also, if you can share is there a fee to pay for sharing??? Thanks for any help!!!:)

Hi, yes as long as the meal isn't buffet style, you can share an entree, there is not any extra charge for doing so, and if you tell your server that you are sharing, they will even put the meal on separate plates for you :thumbsup2:

We do this quite often so we will have room for dessert. The servers have always been very good about it!!!

Thanks!! One last question though, my brother will be 10 on our next trip and will probably want to order off of the kid's menu sometimes. Can he do this even though the ages for kids meals are usually 3 -9?

Are you paying cash or using the Dining Plan? If you're using the Dining Plan, he has to order from the kids menu to use his Dining Plan credits. If you wanted to pay cash for him to order something additional from the regular menu, you can.

If you're paying cash entirely (meaning you're not on the Dining Plan) then he can order whatever he likes.

Hope this helps!

This is usually not a problem. Most of the Disney restaurants that I've heard of will give an adult portion of a child's meal if an adult would rather have the kid's offerings.

I think this is backwards. He can order off the kids menu, but usually they will make it a larger portion and charge his meal at an adult price. At 10 on the dining plan he is considered an adult and will be charged as an adult.

We just got back a couple of weeks ago, we shared meals at Sci-fi and Coral Reef, there is still pleanty of food, it is a great way to save credits for an "extra" meal, which we used for breakfast at CP on our last day.

actually, i just got back from wdw and wasn't ever charged an adult price for ordering off of the kid's meal. i'm 24 and i don't eat big portions (and sometimes i'm a little too picky). once i'm seated at a restaurant, i ask for a child's menu when the person comes to get the drink order. i've have not been refused yet and it's way cheaper than the adult's menu (sometimes they have the same stuff, just smaller portions which is an even better perk!) :goodvibes

I'm guessing you paid out of pocket. If you are on the dining plan, they will take the adult credit off so that your credits will match your room key.

Gosh, this is good news for us, I think!! We will NOT be on the Dining Plan and have a VERY picky 12 year old who is a light eater, like her mom. :goodvibes

So, do I understand this correctly: if I (40 something) and she (12) both want to order off a restaurant's kids menu, we can?

:cheer2:

At some places, you might be allowed to order off the kid's menu. I was refused a kid's burger when I asked for one at Beaches & Cream.

From what I understand you can!!! I am very picky 13 year so this is very good news!!! Thanks!!

My 14 year old daughter ordered a few items from children's menu's and a few places we split meals. Saves money and saves us from over-eating. More room for mickey bars :) We never encountered a problem from the waiter.

Another option-a couple of times at TS, we each ordered salads, and then shared a couple of appetizers instead of ordering entrees. We had a great meal at Maya Grill this way.

Easy way 2 adults can have a wonderful meal that isn't over-filling.

Thanks for your help everyone!!! We are not doing the DDP anymore, since we know that we can share and oder of the kids menu!!! Thanks Again!!:)

Whew, this answered my questions and I didn't even have to ask them :) DD and I will be going by ourselves next year and she will be 10. We go to Applebees and places like that and order two appetizers or salads and appetizers, etc. I really want to eat at Coral Reef and some of the other places where I KNOW she won't get my money's worth if I have to purchase a full meal. I just didn't want to feel like I was some kind of cheapskate for sharing or just getting appetizers and a salad. We are not doing the DDP either so this is fantastic. If it changes for anyone or if someone has problems, please keep us updated. THANKS!!
