Sharing Magic Hours?

We are planning an extended family trip down to Disneyland. Some of our party will be staying in Disney Hotels, but not all. We're reading that Disney Hotel guests will get an early California Adventure magic hour during our time there.

Is there any way to bring the whole group in? Either entering together, will they let them in? Or is there an additional cost if we list other people in the Disney Hotel room?

I'm guessing no to going in as a group, and I think when we booked there was additional cost for more people. But wanted to check!

The only way that you can get EMH at DCA is to be a guest of one of the 3 Disney hotels. So if some of your family is staying on site and others are staying off site, only the on-site people will get EMH at DCA. There aren't any exceptions. Two years ago when we stayed on site, they checked each of us (me, DH, ODD, YDD) for both a ticket and an on site room key with our name on it.

They check your room key when you enter the parks for EE, and then when they let everyone in, they hold the non-EE folks behind a rope and you have to show your room key to get past the rope. The keys have your name on them, so they check that the names match the name on your ticket and may also ask for id. You can list up to 5 people on your room reservation, and I guess they don't technically have to sleep there. When I was checking in to DLH last year at 6:30am, there was a family ahead of me getting a relative added to there reservation so that he could have a room key for EE (and this didn't seem to be a problem, and wasn't frowned upon by the CMs at the desk.) So, depending on the number of people in your group, you may be able to make this work.

That's really helpful information. Thank you for taking the time to send the reply. We will call the hotel and see about adding some additional people onto the room reservation. That would work out perfectly if we can get it done.

Keep in mind you will only be able to add names if the occupancy allows it. An example....if your room lists an occupancy of 5 and there are 4 in your party, you will only be able to add 1 person and that is it.
