Hi all! First post here! I've read a lot here about the DDP & I know that you can't use your credits to pay for someone NOT on the DDP, but what about sharing food with someone not on the DDP? I am going with my 2 girls and my parents & was thinking that if we had separate rooms, the girls & I could do DDP and my parents could choose not to. I hear it's a lot of food so I was thinking that maybe for some meals my mom & I could share. Is this possible? Especially if dessert is involved at the TS meals, could mom & I share the meal & dessert & maybe just pay OOP for an extra side salad or whatnot?

Also, are the kid's meals enough to share, say between a 4 1/2 yo and a 8 yo both light eaters? Would a kid's meal be enough for an adult?

I would assume sharing a meal with someone not on the DDP is just about the same as giving them a free meal, even if you eat half.

Welcome to DIS!

Those are exactly the same thing and not allowed on the DP. Also keep in mind that DIS rules require that we discuss plans and strategies that are consistent Walt Disney World Rules.

Thanks for answering about sharing w/ a non-DDPer. It was just an honest question. I would never want to discuss something not permitted.

Any insight into the other ?s about two light eating kids sharing (both DDP of course!) or an adult eating a kid's meal?

Your kids should be able to enjoy their own kids meals, it really is not that much food. It would be really light eating adult who would be full on a kids meal. Certainly a kids TS meal is bigger than the CS meals. Adult CS meals are fairly generous.

I recently read a dining review where the couple shared several meals - said they were even split onto 2 plates before the were brought out. Whether you can or not, I have no idea since I've never tried it myself.

My opinion on the kids meals is that there isn't enough food for one child, let alone two. We are going in November - a group of 13 people with 6 adults and 7 children. The children will be 2, 4, 5, 5, 8, 9, 9. I'm really worried that the kids meals will not be enough for the 8 and two 9 year olds, and my dd5 (she will be 6 three days after we get back) can out eat her brother who will be 8 at the time of the trip. I am planning on dh and I sharing with them or purchasing some extra's OOP.
