Ok so obviously, I know you cant share if yo are on the Dining Plan and at buffets. But what about the other TS restaurants. I'm trying to decide if it would be more economical for me to ditch the dining plan and pay oop for TS meals and share or just order appetizers. I just wanted to know if Disney cares that you share a meal?

I can't comment on the dining plan, as we've never done it, but my wife and I split entrees all the time. We tell the server that is our plan, and have never had a problem. You might have to ask for an extra plate (again not a problem to do so), and if I recall the restaurant will sometimes divide the food for you.

Split away, enjoy!

They don't care in the slightest as long as you're not trying to share a meal that's charged as all-you-care-to-eat. I've ordered various appetizers as dinners all the time, splitting and not splitting. It works just fine. And the kitchen sometimes will do entree splitting in the kitchen for you if you go that route. Not always, but it's nice when it happens.

Thanks this is great to know. Now i just gotta figure out what the better deal is dining plan or splitting most meals but having 2 buffets mixed in.

Thanks!

you actually can split some meals on the dining plan, too. Just can't split with people who are not on the plan. But if you and your hubby are on the dining plan, and decide you're just not hungry for two separate full meals, you can split. Course at buffets, family-style (like 'Ohana and LTT dinner) you have to pay one credit per person. But everywhere else, it's allowed (well, correction...reports are it's not allowed at Beaches & Cream.) Husband & I have split counter service breakfast, table service breakfast & counter service lunch. Have been many reports on this forum of splitting entrees on the dining plans.

We've had no problem splitting a meal...or ordering apps for dinner while non-dining plan. THe only problem is wanting to order a child's meal for a daughter that is 10yo... who is the size of a 7yo... and eats like a 3yo!

BUT....even then, the right server will "work with you" and perhaps allow two "child -adults"...to split an adult meal....that has worked out well for us.

As PP said, you can split a meal with 2 people on the DDP, if both are on the plan.
It is not allowed with people 1 on the plan the other not. And of course not at all you can eat or buffets.

But if you want to split a meal with your spouse or child that is perfectly ok.

We've never had a problem ordering off the child's menu when my kids were 10 or older. Sometimes that is just want they want and no server has ever questioned that.
