Sharing at CS?

The Cosmic Ray's and the meal splitting threads got me thinking.

I know alot of the meals at WDW are oversized and plenty big enough to share. I hate to waste food and would like to share 2 or 3 meals for 3 or 4 people so...

What CS places have the most generous portions and are the ideal places to split meals?

I would like to know opinions for Bfast as well as lunch.

Pepper Market has huge portions. We split several meals there and had plenty to eat (and that's with two adults and a toddler sharing). Next trip I may leave my wife at home and get all my meals by poaching leftovers from abandoned tables at Pepper Market. Plus the provide free all you can eat fresh salsa, corn relish and cour cream at the Mexican food station.

IMHO, the grilled turkey sandwich at Backlot commisary in MGM with fries was enough for two adults to share.

We share at CS restaurants pretty commonly - usually we'll order one adult meal, and if the kids meals are interesting or we're craving something like a hot dog but don't want all the calories of an adult hot dog, we'll do a kids meal as well.

DH and I always share the chicken finger baskets (foun d at lots of CS places) and a large diet coke....

DW and I would split CS meals at Pecos Bills when we went on the dinning plan. Those meals were just huge.

OK, I don't have the 2006 guide so what does M L mean? Medium? Large? :confused3

Thanks for all the info, I also thought of Pizza Planet which used to have a combo pizza and salad (not the best pizza but a good deal anyway) does it still?

what about Bfast? We are staying at CR, how is the food court there for Bfast portions? If I had the dining plan and used a CS for that could I get a muffin or fruit as an app?

I am basically trying to figure out if we would be able to do a quick bfast on some days if I got 1 CS of eggs in the am and let DH and DD1 split that and let DD2 have the fruit or muffin since that is all she eats anyway and bought cereal and some extra drinks for the fridge in the room. I like to save time on those mornings we are not doing a character meal. Then later in the day, I could get 2 CS lunches to split, one for us and one for the girls. With the snacks, TS meals and such I think we will spend more time eating than riding rides!

We did something similar when staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I would go down with our refillable mugs in the morning and get drinks along with two breakfast meals. One was always the breakfast platter that came with a large portion of scrambled eggs, bacon and a biscuit. I also would get the breakfast sandwich that would come with "hash browns". We got donuts as the CS desert and typically bottled water to take to the parks as a drink. This was more than enough food for breakfast.

We then would split 2-3 CS meals for lunch. We had 4 extra as we didn't use any on arrival day. For the most part we would just split two meals but at Pizza Planet and Pizzafari we got 3 Pizzas to split.

All in all we didn't pay for any breakfast or lunch food items except the occasional extra drink over 7 nights by doing this with the dinning plan. We did have breakfast one morning at CP and used TS credits for that.

Thanks so much, that is the info I was looking for! :goodvibes This will help with my budgeting plans. :teacher: and yes desert was with CS not app, sorry/ so doughnuts would be fine.

I could not remember the hot eggs style choices at POFQ from last year, those beignets were too tempting and at Poly we never ate Bfast at the food court, I'm not sure why. I know we had 3 character Bfasts that trip so we ate cereal the other 3 mornings I guess.

I can't help with b'fast- we eat in the room before we go and eat an early lunch.

But for CS sharing meals
MK
Pecos Bills- the chicken wrap and fries is enough for 2 adults
kids split 2double cheeseburger meal with fries leftover
Cosmic Rays 2 chicken strip baskets feeds 2 kids and 2 adults(6 large strips)

AK
Pizzafari
2 pizzas for family of 4

MGM
ABC Comm
cuban sandwich with fries feeds 2 adults

Epcot
El. Umbrella
more chicken strips split by kids and somekind of sandwich split by adults.

We find splitting is really enough food and leaves room for a snack in the afternoon(ice cream or itzakadoozie(sp))

If someone is hungry they can always go back for more is our thought and usually no one does.

Only exception we have is El pirata- everyone gets their own meal there!

I think the beef flatbread at Seasons in the Land Pavillion is certainly big enough to split, as was the lamb schwarma platter at the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco and the rib combo meal at Flame Tree Barbeque. The noodles at Tomorrowland Terrace are probably enough to split but the mechanics would be more problematic unless you want to eat out of the same bowl.

The fish and chips at the ABC Commissary did not seem to be as large as the others (3 small-med pieces of fish.)
