We have reservations at 1:30 on a wed. There is just two of us, So I was wondering do they ever have people 'share' cars. If so, Does it ruin the excpereince? Tell me your opinion on this, and this resturant as well. Thanks!!

Yes they have you share cars and as long as you are in the front of the car I didnt think the experience was ruined. I dont think being in the back seat would have made me happy. Just being honest. I love the atmosphere. I actually enjoy the food there very much but alot of people for some reason or another do not ( to each their own). I believe Im not cooking Im not home and Im in Disney Id find almost anything good under those circumstances LOL

I guess it really depends on who you share the car with. My girlfriend and I sat in the back seat behind a family of 4 (the 2 kids were pretty young). We had no issue sitting behind them at all. My only issues with Sci-Fi was the menu and the food (only had dinner there, heard lunch is better).

We had a back seat and it was fine (usually a party of 2 goes in the back seat, party of 4 in the front and middle seats). The cars are angled in such a way that you can see the screen easily between the people in front of you. Our car had 2 kids in the front seat, parents in the middle, us in the back.

It was a really fun atmosphere and the food was decent, maybe at a TGIFriday's level. There's a review in my September dining report.

I'm not dying to go back anytime soon, but I'm really glad I did it once (and I'd be happy to go back someday, I just mean that with all the possible restaurants out there, there are others I'd try rather than repeating Sci-Fi soon).

We now ask for the tables at the back because we weren't crazy about sharing cars.

Our family shared a car with a nice couple on their Honeymoon.
There are 3 of us in our family and we brought my DS BFF along and the two
young teens sat in the front seat, DH and I in the middle and the couple in the back seat.
They didn't mind sharing with us, they were really friendly.
They spoke to us first and told us it was their honeymoon and all
about there resort (and how disney upgraded them to Contemparary from CBR).We congratulated them and gave them our best wishes for a successful marrige. This is a fun place.

On the other hand when we shared a split booth with another group at
50's Prime time--I hated it! I didn't like the other group of loud and annoying
people. Plus our Cousin/waitress wanted us to act like we were all related
and to play along. I just wanted to eat my food and get out as soon as possible. We enjoyed Sci-fi Cafe' so much more than 50s PT.

It didn't for us we sat in the back while a family sat up front. Stick with the burgers and onion rings most everything else gets bad revews. You share a both with others at 50's? I didn't know that, you don't have to right?

I didn't know either (we were a group of 3 and the other group was 4) until they called both groups names at the same time and I thought we were going to get seat in each a different section but it was a very small room(boothlike room) with two booths real close to each other. You could almost reach to their table an eat something off of it. I didn't think that it would be as annoying until our cousin came to take our order and started all the pretending stuff. If we ever eat there again (which I don't think we will ) I
will asked to be moved to a table in the room that is not as close.

Oh, no-it doesn't ruin the experience at all! One time I was solo there, sat in back of a family. At the end of the meal, someone's lime green mickey head showed, and it turns out we were both DISers (unfortunately, I don't remember the name-this was at least 5 years ago). You never know who you'll meet!

Just the two of us and we love Sci Fi (although we have to limit our visits to every two years or so to give us enough time to forget some of the film clips). Even when we had our son with us, we ate at the Sci Fi. Sharing a car didn't hurt our experience one iota. With the three of us, we had a solo person in the back seat. With the two of us, we've been the "hitchhikers" in the back seat. We never interacted with the other people as it's hard to do since you are all facing forward.

And I wish I had thought of eating there when I did some solo trips. That would have been a perfect place for doing that.

How is Si-fi with a group? :grouphug: We are going there next week 3 kids, 5 adults one in a wheelchair.
