With a week old baby, I finally have an excuse for very frequent trips to DLP over the next few 10 years or so. Is it worth purchasing shares and joining the shareholders club? What are the main benefits?

Cheers,

Leebob.

Oh JOIN! Not only for the benefit of discounts in DLP, but also here too. Means I can buy just that little bit more for Christmas ;)

I agree to join, the perks are very good (especially the 10% Disney stores in Europe!) I am in the process of remewing my membership to the shareholders club ready for my Christmas trip!!

Definitely worth joining, I think we probably recouped the costs back in just our first visit!! :rotfl:

Oh yes, I will be taking my Shareholders card with me when we visit Rome next year. ::yes::

Hi I've had a really quick read on the subject but could someone please answer some questions.
How much are the shares if I was to buy the 20. Where do I buy these from asap as we are going in 39 days.
Would Iget my card before I go.

Thanks

A lot of people choose to get a Halifax share dealing account, it seems the most straight forward way to go there are more details in the longer thread linked above. Don't worry about whether or not you get your card in time. As long as DLP have the evidence that you've got the shares they'll send you out a temporary certificate which will be valid for three months. I was there last weekend with a temporary certificate and had no problems at all in getting my discounts.

The only thing was that because it wasn't a card that could be swiped at a till point they'd have to call for a manager to come and take the discount from your cost. They were very quick though, when rang they answered straight away appeared not long after apologising for making you wait and putting it through. Much better service then you get in other places when you wait a week for a manager to show up :thumbsup2

Even if you have a card you need a manager to authorise the discount. The cards can't be swipped
