Has anyone ever actually got a decent discount when trying to book onsite, room only? Is it worth me even trying?

We plan to stay room only somewhere on the first and last nights of our trip, but of course it would be so much easier if we could do it at the same hotel we have the package for.

If not, I'm thinking of the Kyriad, as it's one that's connected with the shuttle bus service. Am I best to book this direct with them, or are there other sites that offer better deals?

shareholders discount only gets you 10 or 20% off the rack (full walk-in) rate of the onsite hotels, so its usually more expensive with shareholders discount than buying a package.

the kyriad has a price-match guarantee policy, and i'm looking at the kyriad myself for June - for my dates their own website is cheaper than other agents i usually look at.

We'd originally booked the Kyriad for next summer although we cancelled when we decided to book a package. We also found the cheapest price was on the Kyriad website. We'd booked with a fully cancellable rate as we were expecting to cancel but the non-cancellable rate was incredibly cheap.

Thanks both - The Kyriad seems to get really great reviews so quite happy to stay there.

When I'm ready to book the package I'll give the Shareholders line call just to check prices, but I'm not expecting anything affordable.

Loyalty discounts was exactly what I suggested when that Survey of DLP fans was on! I hope they take notice, because I reckon people like us (who 'convert' the non disney freaks) must have some impact on their visitor numbers!!!
