I have been thinking about it all and I am so glad that I can come here and ask lots of questions so here goes.

I was interested in becoming a shareholder because of the benefits but I couldnbt really make it out from reading the thread. Its probably just me. So do I just go into the bank of scotland/halifax branch local to me or do I have to do it online? Oh and does someone have the link for online as I tried to look it up but wasnt sure what one was for me.

Oh and the annual pass is that cheaper or better after I become a shareholder?

Another question is the annual pass 365 days from the day I purchase it or does it mean for the year that I purchase ie 2012?

Thanks again for everyones help as I am just trying to work out whats best for me and I know that there are people here who can help me make a informed choice. :grouphug:

I'm not a shareholder so I can't help you re Halifax but I'll try concerning the AP

The AP is valid for a year starting from the date that your photo is taken at DLP and your AP is made out in the AP offices.

Even if you purchase it now via CEmulti or another offer the validating starts as above.

I've got an AP as I find the shareholder offer too restrictive for me ie - I don't only eat T/S and I don't buy (enough) souvenirs to make the larger discount more interesting for example

You get a discount on AP's once you are a shareholder but depending on your family size and make up it could well be cheaper buying from cem :)

Hi!

I bought some shares today using Halifax, you can apply online using this form https://share-dealing.halifaxsharedealing-online.co.uk/ShareDealingReg/sdURProductSelection.aspx?PSF=SDOnlineReg:viewSDProductSelection:5450aaf4-05da-4ff5-a648-6b89638decc6.

You select the share dealing account, fill in your details and they will send you a password in the post (took 4 days to arrive for me), once this is completed you can buy the shares online. You need to credit the account with £100, but you can transfer any left over funds once you have completed the transaction.

Halifax are reporting that Euro Disney shares are in their top 5 traded international shares, so they are easily found. You need only select "Deal now" once you have completed your account using the password you will receive in the post.

It cost me around £75 for 20 shares with the brokers fee included in that. You can buy 5 shares only and pay a 30 euro fee to the shareholders club every two years, instead, if you wish.

You get a discount on the annual passes with a shareholders card.

Hope this helps.

I did it all through the Halifax website, it was easiest that way as I ready have an account with them.

As far as I know shareholders get 15% off annual passes so the Dream pass which should be 199 euros would be 169.15 (£135 ish, how much exactly depends on the exchange rate at the time) and it's a year from the day it's bought.

A number of people have bought AP from Ce-multivantages a French group buying site. At 159 euros for the Dream pass it's slightly cheaper than the shareholders discount and you get a free child pass with every adult one bought. But you have to pay a 20 euro joining fee so whether or not it works out cheaper depends on your circumstances. If you're just buying one then it's probably not worth joining, if you're buying a few or have children then it's worth considering.

Thank you both :grouphug:

Do you know how much the discount is?

Will I be able to get it all sorted out before August 1st as that is when I am thinking of going. It was meant to be me and the two children but only one wants to go now so its just me and my DD going so I seen that the annual pass was cheaper than the 4 for 5 days tickets that I was going to get so happy days. I need as much discount as I can get as just because DS isnt going doesnt mean he wont want a suitcase full of gifts hehe.

This website has lots of information on the shareholders club :) According to the website the discount on annual passes is 15% (if that is what you wanted to know!)
http://corporate.disneylandparis.com/shareholders/shareholders-club/discounts/index.xhtml

You can see the discounts you receive with the annual passes on this website

According to the email I received from the shareholders club, it can take around 6 weeks to get the full membership card. However you can ask for a temp certificate which arrives much more quickly.

If you buy it directly at DLP yes if it's bought from elsewhere ie cem it's a year from the date it it made out and laminated at DLP..This can mean up to 6 months difference ;)

How old is your DD ?

If you order now from CEM you can have them within the week and you wouldn't need to buy a Dream as there are no blackout dates in August on the next one down a Fantasy so it would be even cheaper :goodvibes

My DD is 14 so not a child.

Are the benefits/discounts the same for being a shareholder as having an annual pass?

If I buy the cheaper ones with the blackout dates from CEM can I use it the first day that I get there?

Thanks again everyone.

You would need a Fantasy AP as the Francilien can't be used on the 2nd or 3rd day after first validation.
So unless you were going on the Monday and then to Paris on the Tues/Wed and back to DLP on the Thursday they aren't going to be any good for you

Disneyfoo put up the 2 discount links

Shareholders offer

AP's

It depends how you eat and what you are looking to buy/do

:)

Thank you for helping me everyone and for posting the links. I am such a sausage and just super excited about going that I am not even really seeing it all.

I think unless I am wrong that getting the dream pass through CEM is my best bet as it means I dont have to worry about joining the shareholders clubs as it gives me the same discounts?

We wont arrive until dinnertime and are thinking about going into the park that night. Will that be possible ie will we be able to get our tickets changed or do they only deal with such things during office hours?

If you want 15% off table service and buffets it's a SHAREHOLDERS CARD, if you are ok with 10% you can get a Dream or a Fantasy AP and you also get 10% with them off counter service

SC gives you 15% off in shops and Dream AP gives you more with 20% and Fantasy is 10%

Depends on what you are planning on buying and eating.

Perso for the little difference I bought an Fantasy AP from a website doing special deals like CEM

What time is dinner time to you as they are supposed to be open same as park hours but some people are reporting that for them it was only until 19h :confused3

Looking at DCP they say that if the AP offices are closed or unaccesible you can change your "ticket/voucher" into a AP the next day at either Donalds desk or Customer Relations (both of which are outside the park)

35) How do I get my final PA in case of overcrowding at the offices of PA or if they are closed?
* If you used your temporary PA on the day of your visit and that you have not been able to make the final in the day:
-it may exceptionally be exchanged on site during the second visit of Donald Office directly. Please contact Guest Relations if they are closed.
The PA will have a definitive start date for the corresponding date of the first visit.
you can make the final mail without sending free to the address in question 19:
> the order signed and dated
> the original ticket or PA temporary park entrance,
> a photocopy of the identity of both sides of the member,
> a photo ID of the participant.
> If the participant is a minor, in addition to providing a legal guardian authorization accompanied by a photocopy of both sides of his identity.

* If you want to exchange your ticket for one day against a PA, you can get your PA final correspondence only attach the documents listed above along with a supplement by check or credit card equal to the difference between the price AP chosen and the price written on the back of the ticket a day.

:goodvibes

If I wanted to get someone to sponsor me for my AP then would I just buy a one day ticket and then disney will take that off my AP or wont it happen like that because I am being sponsored?

I cant honestly say what time I am getting in. As I am not staying at DLP I am staying outside the park so I will need to get there from beauvais and drop off the stuff then get to DLP so not sure how late it will be.

I think in your case I'd opt for APs instead of shares as if you're staying offsite you'll need to buy either tickets or APs anyway.

Yes, it doesn't make any difference whether you're being sponsored or not.

In that case it may be easier (and cheaper) to buy your APs from one of the sites like CEM rather than going down the sponsorship route.
