Share your stories about going to the First Aid Stations

My daughter took a rough tumble on Tom Sawyer's island when she was 4. Unfortunately, there is no first aid on the island. However, the staff was great. They got us on the next raft back to the "mainland" and told us how to get to first aid. The staff there cleaned up her hands, knees, and head, bandaged her, and made us stay awhile for observation due to the bump on her head. They entertained her with conversation, a book, a snack, and a nice cold Gatorade. I was very impressed with their level of care and concern.

They took her temp (104), gave her tylenol, and then told us we needed to go back home. Really??? You think so??? No help to the car, no "hope you feel better". They were just two people that happened to be paramedics that didn't want to be at work that day and it really made me mad. I am a paramedic and work part-time at 6-Flags, I NEVER have treated any patients like that. I even told my dh if we were at MK they probably would've at least had Mickey show us to the car or something.
Respectfully, no, Mickey wouldn't have escorted you to your car or anything. You seem to have had two adults, two children, the medication you requested, confirmation of the fever, and medical advice (admittedly, for whatever the latter was worth). It's likely assumed by SeaWorld policy that (a) under these conditions you were capable of getting your child to your car yourself and (b) if you needed help, you would have requested it.

On our first trip to the then "MGM Studios", my son had developed a nasty rash, and welts on his leg. <snip>She asked where we were staying, and advised us to look in our son's bed...for bed bugs !!!!!! <snip> But I have been left with a very strong paranoia of bed bugs ! The bags aren't even alllowed in the room until I check it out !
Eh... especially if it was summer or even if there was just a strong sun, it's more likely the rash and welts were caused by the sun reflecting off the pavement onto your son's legs - he was wearing shorts, right? There's a name for the condition, but I don't remember it at the moment.

Last year my friend Chelsey got sick from dehydration/exhaustion in the middle of Carousel of Progress (this is a major joke today). We had only been in the park for less than an hour. We wound up running her out of an emergency exit while the room was starting to turn and a cast member chased us out angrily.
Just so you know - while it's REALLY too bad your friend got sick, exiting this building in the middle of the cycle is (a) dangerous, since the building rotates and (b) shuts down the entire attraction, requiring it to recycle.

We have used the first aide station at Blizzard Beach twice. My daughter scrapped her knee at the bottom of the slide in the ski patrl area. The surface is very rough. Her knee was bleeding and the life guard told us that he could not call for help and that i had to take her all the way to first aide at the front of the park. This is a very long story, but when we finally got there, they were very nice. I have no idea why first aide is at the front of the park and not in the middle.
Last year we went back to first aide at Blizzard Beach because the same daughter rubbed her eye after she put on sunscreen and her eye was burning. They were again great and told me exactly what to do. I am sure that they get that alot. I then learned that the sunscreen i was using was too strong for her skin tone and that it wasn't strong enough for my youngest daughter.
Then again last year, the same daughter, was talking to my nephew and not watching where she was going. She tripped off the curb and scrapped her knee again. I think she needs to wear knee pads. I had band aides, but not bacitration so we went to first aide and they helped us again.
My sister used first aide a lot because my niece has special needs. Everyone there was wonderful and very accommodating. They can definately make an unpleasant situation better.

Are these the same spots as the baby changing stations?

I know they are right next to each other at HS. I believe they are at Epcot too. Not sure about AK and MK but I think it's a safe bet that they are either adjacent or very close to one another.

We had our first ever visit to a Disney First Aid Station last year. My 5 year old got glow stick liquid in her eye. We flushed it with water, but she was still freaking out (it apparently burned like heck. Her eyes were well flushed, but now the solution was in her nasal cavity). We were in Epcot near China, so the first aid station was relatively close.

The nurses reassured us that it was non-toxic and she wouldn't be blinded or anything by it. Being at the first aid station helped to calm the little one down and the fact they gave us a certificate for free ice cream bars helped her gain her composure. ;)

It was a minor thing, but their kindness and knowledge really helped us all calm down. We were on the verge of total melt down wth a 5 yr old crying, thus scaring the 2 yr old...my DH was getting angry at me (I am not really sure why anymore). But we were able to go on and have a perfectly pleasant afternoon in the World Showcase afterwards.
