Share Your FAVORITE Spots at Disneyland Resort!

We love to eat and people watch on the patio at Cafe Orleans. Their Monte Cristo and Pomme Frites are a must for my family. My other laughing place is the hidden path behind Harbor Galley. I love heading there and seeing people right after the big drop on Splash mountain!

I've seen that spot FROM Splash Mountain, but never walked it! We'll have to make the effort to do so this time!

In DCA we love sitting around the corner at Flo's as it is usually quite and easy to get a table. We will get our food at Cozy Cone and take it there to eat and watch the cars on RSR race by :thumbsup2

I didn't know about the path behind Harbor Galley. It will have to check it out on my next trip.

My favorites are, like others, Hungry Bear and behind Flo's. I used to really enjoy the area behind BTMRR, but it's not as quiet as it used to be. I also like sitting and relaxing by the pond between Small World and Autopia across from Matterhorn.

Man, all this talk of sitting and relaxing at DL has me ready for another trip. On our last trip, we went to Tom Sawyer Island and let the kids run free in the tree house/pirate ship area. I found a rock bench to sit on facing the Rivers of America and it was so nice. Watching the Mark Twain go by, seeing the ducks splash around, sitting in the shade....doesn't get much better than that. And if I find that you've taken my spot on the next trip, expect me to politely ask you to get out of "my" seat.

Never had a chance to eat at Hungry Bear - it does sound relaxing, so I hope to try on the next trip.

I'm hoping that the new area around Soarin' has a great relaxing feel to it.

What is going next to Soarin', I keep seeing the pictures of construction but I have no idea what they're doing or when it will be completed?

This isn't a secret or special spot by any means, but I really enjoyed sitting outside of the pizza port by space mountain and eating lunch. It wasn't crowded and had good people watching and I got to sit in the awesome atmosphere of tomorrowland. Kinda lame I guess, but it's a fond memory haha.

Especially when in dire need, any toiety that has zero stand by time man. Lol No, really!

Hi all!

We're gearing up to leave for Disneyland in just over a week here and I'd love to hear about some of your FAVORITE spots in the Parks!

Do you have a favorite place to relax and people watch? Is there a meal you cannot miss out on? Is there a secret location that doesn't seem to be commonly known?

This is trip #10 for me, but I'd love to hear about beloved places I've possibly missed out on in the past!

I know this is not the most popular ride, but it's a sentimental one to me. I first visited DLR in 1988. I was 3 yrs old. I have THREE memories from that trip. 1. One of Cinderella's mice approached me in the light parade and kissed my hand like I was a princess. 2. My parents bought me a big Daisy Duck hat with huge plastic eyelashes that I wore religiously for way too long after the trip was over. And 3. Storybook village. I was in AWE of that ride. Going into the whale's mouth was just magical to me. So when we took our DS to DLR for the first time in 2013 at 4 years old, I insisted that we HAD to do Storybook village. We waited until a parade was running through, and walked right up to the ride with absolutely no wait. I don't know if my son loved it as much as I did when I was tiny, but I loved sharing it with him. It's not one of the "can't miss" rides, but I just had to show him those tiny houses. :)

Edit:: It's a great one when you need to just take a break and sit back and relax for a ride. Especially since the wait usually isn't unreasonable.

One of my favorite things to do is walk down the sidestreets on Main Street. Read the windows, they are funny and touching. You will hear some great sounds to go along with some of the "businesses" ( don't want to give away too much).

I'm like you, wanting to discover new hidden places and food after so many trips. It's fun to experience a few new things each time we go.

So last trip I finally had a Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans, that is now on my must eat list, so delicious and can't believe I've missed out all these years. My other must have, at least twice per trip, is a corn dog from the red wagon. Also recently discovered the Mickey cream cheese pretzel which is a great snack to share with someone. Our upcoming trip I want to try the BBQ baked potato and lobster roll at Harbor Galley and the lobster nachos at Cove Bar.

As far as people watching I do enjoy just sitting anywhere along Main Street with all the activity. For a quiet spot, the benches near the baby center/red wagon is a nice place, also shaded if it's hot out.

Looking forward to others input!

In years past, I always found the Monte Cristo's at Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou to be the same, but my last trip in January, I discovered that the ones at Blue Bayou had been changed, and for the better. There is not as much breading, and they give you 3 dipping sauces. Granted, I will still eat them at both places, because its my favorite sandwich in the world, but give the ones at BB a try!!

The path and area behind Harbor Galley are a great quiet place. I also love to watch the people on Splash Mountain. But we really shouldn't tell too many people about this, because it's amazingly deserted whenever I've been there. Just this one time, ok? Haha!

A few that haven't been mentioned yet:
1. The jamboree area out by big thunder ranch. My first time out there was last year over Thanksgiving weekend. It was such a nice quiet place and not crowded at all. You see characters there dressed in special holiday outfits and they are very interactive. Chip sat down and watched my DS and some other kids decorate cookies. It was really cute. They don't always have that area open, but it should be open for another few weeks for the Springtime Roundup.
2. Taking the monorail to DTD and getting out for lunch at Tangaroa Terrace at the DLH. I love the grounds of the hotel and sitting on the terrace overlooking the pools is very relaxing. It's always seems pretty quiet over there and so easy to hop back onto the monorail to get back into the park. Ask to sit in the front for an extra special view. In the evening Trader Sams is great too.

OK - forgive me just this once and I promise to NEVER mention it again! :hyper2:

Instead of a deserted area in the middle of no where, it will now be more like the Redwood Creek Challenge in appearance. Lots of big redwood trees with muted tones. Here's a video of a few guys going there for lunch.
It's still walled off, but I'm hoping it's an extension of Grand Cali in look and feel.
