Where are some areas where you can sit down and enjoy a snack or take a breather for a little bit while in the parks?

Great post and really needed at this time. One of my go to spots used to be Hungry Bear as it was quiet towards the back of the seating area and it was very peaceful to watch the boats/ducks. I've tried that twice in the past month and it was very busy and loud. So, I don't know if I've had bad luck or if it's just busy and loud now. At any rate, I haven't seen any peaceful places since I've been back post Covid.

I'm not sure what things are like at the moment, but we love going to the Hungry Bear because of the two big outdoor seating areas. The one upstairs is really pretty, surrounded by trees and we often see cats there. We also like the covered dock area near Small World and Matterhorn. Snow White's Grotto is really nice and usually pretty quiet, too. Plaza Inn has alot of nice outdoor seating but I'm not sure if you need to buy something there to use that. I also like taking a ride on the Mark Twain because you get a nice break from the huge crowds while you see the River. We've taken our lunch on that boat a number of times.

Oh I never thought to bring a snack onto the boat. I have often jumped on the boat to just rest my feet for a bit and enjoy the scenery

Our trick was always to hang out around attractions that were under refurbishment. But when we were there last week, the big thunder area was hopping as if it were open!

Our favorite quiet spot is over by the fantasyland theater and train station. There are bathrooms right there too! 👍 It may have even been quieter the day we were there because the train was down all day for some reason.

Also, if you have a baby, the baby center really is a nice place to rest with A/C. I may have sat in that chair for a few minutes extra with my eyes closed just because it was so nice. But even outside of it in the little area behind it where first aid is, is a really nice downtime spot. My family saw several calvacades on Main Street while they were waiting for me to come out of the baby center.

  • The far outside seats at Rancho Del Zocalo
  • The dock area that wraps around Harbor Galley
  • The sitting area near the bathrooms on Tom Sawyer Island (bring a meal out with you and some playing cards)
  • Riding the train around the park
  • The group meetup area next to city hall where tours and plaids meet up (usually empty mid day)
  • The Pizza Planet sitting area when it isn't mealtime - great for air conditioned rest time
  • The sitting area between the Matterhorn and Small World

The Tinkerbell fairy garden (not the meet the character area) between the castle and Tomorrowland has the sweetest little light/fountain show at night, every quarter hour. It’s also a nice spot to just hang out in and catch your breath during the day.

I’ve been twice since the parks reopened. I noticed the area in front of the line for Matterhorn (under the monorail tracks) is on the quiet calm side.

At DCA, the area under the Silly Symphony Swings has some benches, and if they're full, you can just sit with your back against the inner wall because there's lots of space. It's nicer when there's water to look at instead of the broken WOC equipment platforms, but still a good spot to enjoy a quiet snack.

I also love the mini-light show at the fairy garden - it is a must see for me each trip. The seating between Matterhorn and small world is another good go-to place for a bit of calm for my family too.

Bummer that Hungry Bear has finally been 'discovered' and isn't a quiet spot anymore.

Any restful spots in GE?

Our favorites:

At DL Proper:

Tom Sawyer Island, on the river side under the trees.

The Big Thnder Mtn trail, but away from the entrance for Galaxy's Edge.

The bridge near Big Thunder Mtn. While not really "deserted," people aren't really stopping, so noise is passing. We discovered turtles there for the first time last trip!

Mark Twain Riverboat. A lot of room to just escape from people.

At DCA:

The trail behind Grizzly River. A lot of people don't know you can go back there.

One great spot that's usually not too crowded are the little benches next to Luigis Roadsters on the new path between Cars Land and Avengers Campus. My wife and I grabbed beers and sat there for 30 minutes on our last trip watching the Luigis cars. Not necessarily quiet, but peaceful. The area that overlooks Grizzly Rapids is another fun spot to hang out in DCA.
