We're headed back to WDW next month with our two year old. This will be his 4th trip and our goal is to do some new and different things (i.e. not Dumbo lol).

We plan to do a pony ride at FW along with Chip and Dale's campfire.

I would also like to rent one of those little boats and zip around 7 seas lagoon.

Do you all have some other fun ideas for toddler activities that are not the norm?

Thanks in advance!

DS had his fourth trip just before Christmas, and he only turned 2 a couple weeks ago. I want to point this out, so you'll see I'm talking about the same age category...

Basically, you're going to quickly find out your little guy could care less about changing things up.

DS adored playing in the water at Pooh's Spot, to the point he was in tears when we said it was time to go. Mom and Dad were exhausted from riding the Barnstormer 7 times in a row, while Duncan was all a go for more.

Dumbo, Pooh, Peter Pan, Small World - while repetitive to adults - is ever changing to your little one. DS could have cared less about the Pony Rides (we have a large animal family at home, and if anything, this made him miss them more), and the boat rides while enjoyable for adults can be a little boring for toddlers.

If your vacation focus is all about your little guy, then I'd say go with the flow - and let him show you what he enjoys the most. It's funny how for some, it's about the rides, for others meeting characters, some can't get enough of the pools or fountains, and others yet want nothing more than to stop and smell the flowers.

I'm sure others might have some suggestions on what to try... but sometimes the basics for the little ones is the best bet. Just my $0.02

-Did you ride the WDW railroad? Monorail?
-Surrey(sp) bike rental at Boardwalk
-Kidcot stops, but really more appropriate for 3.5 and uo IMO

I don't know if this is typical or not...but what about the character meal at the Studios? My son was older when we went (3.5) but we saw a lot of people with really little ones. The characters might be familiar if you watch any Playhouse Disney--I know we saw Leo and June from Little Einsteins, for example. The food was actually pretty good for a buffet. Also, they do a little show where the characters (and any kids who want to join in) dance around the restaurant every 20 or 30 minutes.

As a confessional...my DS has always been small for his age. I didn't realize until we left that they forgot to charge me for his meal. I still feel guilty about that one, especially considering how much he ate.:rolleyes1

My DS2 loved riding the boats at DTD and checking out the sights there - especially the large LEGO statues.
