Shaping up for 2.0

My walking yesterday produced a small blister on my foot when my shoe came loose at a point I couldn't stop and retie it thus it rubbed to a blister. :scared1: :scared:

So as a result of the blister, I didn't walk as much today. However We did manage to somehow walk 2 miles this morning on the padded walking track. It hurts less when I am moving...

Okay, I am back! Back from four days at my mother's, stress eating, discovering candy bars and eating them, eating restaurant food I shouldn't have eaten. I did get in a few half hour walks. But not as much exercise as usual.

Back to sticking to good habits of healthy eating and good fitness. Got to get rid of the pounds that creeped back!

Yay for fresh start!
:cheer2:

Today is weigh in day (noon), but this morning's at home reading was favorable!!!

Where's the "fingers crossed" smilie??? :scared:

Good luck!!!

Ouch!! Take it easy so it doesn't get worse!

I believe today is Katherine's WI day too, so good luck to her and anyone else that faces the scale today!!!

I wish I could figure out why our brains do this to us :scratchin

I go to a restaurant - I know I'm going to have the plain salad - no cheese please AND THE DRESSING ON THE SIDE. I plan on getting GRILLED chicken or fish, baked potato no sour cream or butter, etc etc ... the the other side of my brain takes over :crazy2:
I'm ordering the fried calamari - blue cheese dressing on the salad - shrimp scampi. :scared1:

It's the same way in the grocery store - I'm the only one who shops, how does all that crap food get into my shopping cart?

I listen to another podcast (not Disney! "Motivation to Move") that stresses having your defualt eating plan. This is good eating habits that you usually maintain. In the restaurant, the treat side of the brain takes over. But then you go right back to the default eating plan (diet, if you wish). Always know that when you go off in the wrong direction, you can go right back to the good habits the very next meal.

As for the shopping cart - you need to take better control of those "bad" items that jump in and kick them out!

Good luck! :thumbsup2
And keep moving! :yay:

Apparently I'm keeping up my streak of not being good about checking in on the weekend (well, my weekend, which is Sun-Tue). Anyway, I need to get better about that not just to keep up with you guys (:grouphug:) but because my eating's been all out of control the past few days. :headache: Fortunately I've been keeping up the exercise so I haven't done any damage versus the scale, but being off track 3 days out of the week isn't going to get me where I wanna go. I need more accountability.

On the positive side, one week of actively shooting down negative thoughts has made a real difference. It's kind of weird; I never put much stock in the 'positive thinking' business, but it's only been a week that I've been actively swatting negative thoughts when they scoot by and I'm having a lot fewer of them (yes, I was keeping a tally; how anal is that? :lmao:). Anyway, cruddy eating aside, I'm considering myself on track for my goal this week. :goodvibes

I won't go back and try to catch up with everyone. Just :welcome: to the newcomers! And hoping everyone has a great rest-of-the-week!

I walked to dinner tonight. About 3.5 miles RT.

The weekend at my mother's, away from my good routine, but my weight back where it was three weeks ago!

AARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!:scared1:

Had a good day finally. Ate light and got in 2 hours of constant basketball.

Back on the wagon! Ate good so far and got in a 3 mile run and 3 mile bike. After 4 days of little activity it sure feels good. Must stop eating....must stop eating ;)

I walked 2.85 miles this morning before the Storms Hit.

You guys are walking machines! Way to go!:banana:

Rest day for me exercise-wise, but being back at work has my eating back on track. Scale was down 0.4 this afternoon. Let's hope it keeps going that way for the weekend. :goodvibes

Ok, was looking at my pics from the cruise and decided I need to get back in the grove of hitting the gym and getting some pounds off (I was 65 down from the all time high but have gained back 30 of them, I blamed it on turning 40 and going through a bad breakup but it was mostly chocolate chip cookie dough) I was able to actually maintain on the PCC 1.0 (I did not use the elevators and always used the stairs to burn some calories) So I talked a friend of mine into joining a new gym that opened up close by and now I have a local to make me feel guilty for not going. I have been lurking on here and decided I might as well have some Dis friends to prod me along as well.

So count me in... 30 to go...

Well, at this rate, the Podcast Crew won't have to plan ANY activities!!! We can all just stand around and admire each other!

Good luck!!!

I lost another 2.2 for a total of 5.2# in 2 weeks!

Welcome Rob! :welcome: Just remember if your eating gets out of hand just tell me and I'll make sure you puke! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Jamie admiration can be a wonderful thing, sounds like a plan. :thumbsup2
Also congrats on the 2.2 pound loss, keep it up! :cheer2:

Wednesday was my weigh in day, and I weighed in after we got through all the car shopping. I am exstatic to report I lost 4.4 pounds this week. :dance3: I am not sure what my total weight loss is, but I think it is about 11 pounds.
I have quite a few to go, but feel I can probably accompish this before our December trip.
Tomorrow is a gym day for me as I have not been to the gym since Sunday.

To everyone else congrats on your journey and here's to staying on track.
Have a great weekend. :thumbsup2 We will be heading north tomorrow evening for the weekend. :yay:

Wow! That's some loss this week!:banana::banana::banana:
Nice going!

I went produce shopping today, and I hit the motherlode! Here's what I bought:

asparagus
broccoli
zucchini
boston lettuce
baby bella (cremini) mushrooms
persian cucumbers (small, seedless, great in salads!)
campari tomatoes (best tomatoes that aren't home grown, IMHO)
grape tomatoes
green seedless grapes
raspberries
strawberries
pineapple spears

And I posted to Facebook about the item I was most excited to buy from Costco: bison pastrami. 3 oz is 80 calories, 2g fat. That's only 2 points! I used my WW scale to weigh the portion, and it's a really nice portion! Made a sandwich of it with the Arnold's sandwich thins (1 pt) and some Grey Poupon mustard. It was pretty satisfying for dinner. I really intended to make some sauteed veggies, but I didn't. I snacked on grape tomatoes and the green grapes later.

Thank you, I love the grocery list.
I will have to take a look and see if we can get that bison pastrami up here. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the 4.4 pounds this week Katherine -:cheer2: that is just awesome !!!!

Lori - I've never heard of Persian cukes or Bison pastrami either. I'm off to the market & BJ's this weekend - I'll have to check to see if they're available here. I'm with you on those Campari tomatoes - I just love them. So nice to get a tomato that has flavor.

Doing better....
After the gym last night, I really wanted to eat the cup ice cream (330 cal.), instead I ate water ice (45 cal.)

The sound of heavy rain woke me up early. So I went to the pool at 5:15 and swam 10 laps. My partner has been doing this early swim for almost a year, but it is new to me. I am going to try it again. Just not on Thursday mornings after I stay up too late with podcast chat!

And my scale weighed me three pounds less this morning than it did last night. Weird!
