Shape up before you sail!

I'm down 16 pounds today!!!!!:cool1::love::rotfl2: Where is every one????

COME ON FOLKS - let's get things movin and shakin!!!! Let's get moving, and groving, come to support each other - come to pop in and get some ideas, recipes... ok I guess I'll go do some work!

Having the worst week. EVER.

I went to Memphis for the weekend. Obviously I ate more than I usually eat in a weekend, BUT I really feel as if I did fairly well, and things could have been SO much worse. I also made sure to work out three times at the hotel.

I weighed myself on Friday morning, then again on Monday morning. I gained......wait for it, wait for it...7 lbs! Now, I was pretty devastated that I gained that much weight, but in my mind, I was thinking, it's water weight, it's bloat, once I get back in my routine, it will be fine. Right? Right?

So, I stepped back on the scale this morning. Not only had I not lost the weight, I had gained a pound! How could this weight gain be legitimate? It does not seem possible.

I normally eat 1500 calories a day, and in order to have gained that much weight, I would have had to eat 30,000 calories, roughly 10,000 per day to gain a legitimate 7 lbs. Could I have eaten that? Is it possible that I ate 10,000 calories a day? I am second and triple guessing myself. Is it possible?

I feel so stressed out. 8 lbs is a LOT of weight to gain in a short amount of time, and I really thought most of it would come off within a couple of days.

Sigh.

Having a hard time! Went to Weight Watchers last night, had not been in a couple of weeks because of kids activities. lost another pound, down 19 so far. LONG road ahead still. BUT I must do it!

Down 40 pounds as of yesterday. Still have 10 more to go, but very enthused about my progress! :yay:

Feeling much more energized, and getting ready to walk my 2nd half marathon this weekend (might even jog more of this one than I did of my half marathon this past March). :scared:

Well, time to go practice my TaeKwonDo and drink a ton of water.

Wow! That's incredible, congratulations!! I haven't been on in a while, but realize I need extra support.

Hey all! Figured I'd drop in because I just bought the Wii Fit and am hoping it will help me to lose the last 20 pounds (I lost almost 30 already through cutting out almost all desserts and snacks on land, although I allow myself to indulge when cruising). I also bought the Fitness Trainer disc, but so far I've just been doing the Fit games and they are so much fun! Cruise #70 is Nov. 19 so my goal is to be down 20 lbs. by then. I'm committing to either use my Wii or go to the health club pool every day. Checking it here should help keep me accountable! :thumbsup2

Hey Barb  Good job on the 30 pounds! :thumbsup2

Wendy, congrats on the 40!

Dreamsoftravel, you are hovering on the brink of 20!:yay:

mmackeymouse, don't worry, that 'new' weight WILL come back off, just don't lose heart and get right back on track.

Little sister, great job on 16 pounds. :woohoo:

I leave for vacation on Wednesday and when I get home the following week it will be SWIMMING weather. :beach: Getting in the pool is the one thing I know I can do with my achey joints.

I am SO proud of you! Would love to see some before and after's they just are SO motivational to me! Can't believe we are on the same plan and 40 -50 is what I'm looking to do - if not more. I was so sick of not be able to move and when I did - it was so exhausting just getting in and out of the darn Truck! The not being able to move was my first obstacle, becuase my knees hurt so bad - but with every pound I found more energy and more ease in moving. Now that's it's too hot to hike I am a bit concerned about what I can "LIVE" with work-out wise. I've got lots of options and will need to encorporate them as "life"...

CONGRATS!!!! I find that we all as humans need to really support and celebrate the WINS in our lives... life is hard and making those good choices isn't always apparent at the time. So YIPEE :yay::woohoo: from me to you!

I pray everybody has GOOD choices this week and GET OUT THERE AND MOVE IT MOVE IT MOVE IT!!!!:cool1:

Wow, I love this thread! I've been working my way through it, and there's so much success and support. :grouphug: There's so much I can relate to as well. It's a struggle sometimes, and it's easy to lose motivation, but this is the perfect place to recharge.

I did my Wii twice today for a total of two hours. So far it's still "fun" so I haven't had much trouble getting myself to actually do it. We'll see how long that lasts!

OH that's it! I need a Wii Fit! I was in Babies R Us today and picked up a box and actually thought about it. HMMMM. My son has the Wii in his room so while he's @ school, mom can just sneek in. They have a step aerobics thing for it. What can you guys tell me about that? I used to love to do that. Well, wait, "love" is a strong word.:lmao: I liked it, or rather, I loved it's results. :thumbsup2

I just haven't been able to get to Curves even 3 times a week.:guilty: My husband has weekly rotating shifts and their hours at Curves are just too restrictive for me w/ an 18 month old. It doesn't help too that I get really freaked out going when it's really busy. I have issues w/ my personal space bubble.

(sorry if this might have been answered somewhere back in the thread. I haven't read the whole thread :rolleyes1 )

ppon, it sounds like the Wii Fit might be perfect for you. I was in the same situation of not being able to get to the health club. Now I just grab my Wii Fit and use it, even if I just have a little bit of time. You can do a long session or a short one so it's perfect for busy schedules.

I have trouble with the step but I tend to be uncoordinated in that. If you like it and know how to do it, it would probably be a blast. They have the aerobics, strength training, yoga poses, and balance games, and you get a lot of info. on your center of balance etc. I'm loving it! :thumbsup2

I too am enjoying the thread! I was going to ask about the Wii Fit - but you answered below - so happy when that happens!

Ut oh, my OCD is kicking in and now I MUST find out about this. My friend Colleen has Wii - wonder if I could buy this module and give it a go at her house - to see if I would enjoy it enough to purchase the Wii - too bad I already bought my DH his birthday gift.... :rolleyes1

Just be sure you only buy the Wii Fit package and not the one with all the accessories like socks, charger, and a carrying case. You don't need all that stuff, and you void the warranty if you use non-Wii equipment (which is what is bundled in the accessory pack). The correct package should be around $89 and just has the base, Wii Fit DVD, and regular batteries. I warn you, it is addictive!

Thank you SOOO much for the intel! I am going to pick it up tomorrow. My Mother's Day gift. I asked for it but I can't blame DH for not wanting to buy something that says "move your behind". :rotfl: Darling man.

THANKS THANKS THANKS!:flower3:

I'm going to call my friend and see if she has it already - since I haven't been to her out to PLAY in a long while! Thanks for the info!

Hi all.......congrats on all the weight loss!

I've dropped about 30 pounds so far through diet and exercise, and I'm feeling a lot better. I would love it if I could get to a goal weight before my New Years Eve cruise this year!

We bought the Wii Fit and use it weekly to weigh in. It's been a motivational tool for me and a nice way to track progress week to week.

Got the Wii Fit today. SO far, I likey! Waaaay, back when I was 22 and lost 60 lbs to get to be 145lbs, it was step aerobics I did the most. Wii Fit has that and I like it. It'll take a little getting used to, but I really like it. I'll do some of the other things I'll feel a little silly doing when no one is watching. ;) When my son got home from school today, I got him set up and he was just a hair over underweight (turkey! :upsidedow ) and we jogged together with the Wii. He kicked my rump and was waiting for me at the end of the course, but it was fun. :goodvibes
Anyone else remember the days where you could jump rope for hours and not get tired? I can't even do 3 jumps anymore! :scared: Okay, maybe 6. LOL

THANKS for the recommendation! :thumbsup2

DOWN 18lbs as of this morning!

YIPEE... did my Jillan Michaels tape last night "fat burn" OMG!!!! She is tough. But I got thru it, had to modify some of the steps because I'm just not light / strong enough yet. But I kept going...

MOVE IT MOVE IT MOVE IT!!!!

2littlestitches and tiggerspal, that's great!

ppony, I know what you mean about feeling silly. Myself, I tend to talk back to the screen (mostly complaining when I miss or mess up in something). DH is usually in his office upstairs and probably thinks I'm nuts.

I want to start my Wii Fitness Coach DVD, but I'm having too much fun with Wii Fit. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get tired of it eventually and then I'll have something to switch to. I like the fact that the Coach DVD asks what equipment you have (weights, steps, balance ball) and incorporates that into your workouts.
