Shape up before you sail!

So far last week I didn't lose any week but I maintained.
I started Alli yesterday and just not wanting any "treatment effects" is keeping me from having too much fat :thumbsup2

Thankfully my usual breakfast is less than 15 grams of fat which is the guideline for not having any "treatment effects".

I can also have a Chick-fil-a grilled or grilled club sandwich. The regular sandwich is 17 grams, which I had yesterday with no "effects".

I can also eat the grilled chicken garden salad with fat free honey mustard dressing.

It's a good thing I love Chick-fil-a:)

Is anyone else on Alli?

Hi! I followed from the old thread. :) I have thought about Alli myself - haven't done it. But I was concerned about side effects (accidents). It's encouraging to know you've not experienced any.

I have a lot of weight I'd like to get off - but my cruise isn't until December 2010 so I have time. My desire is for a nice formal dress & family picture.

However, we are going to WDW in November of this year - so I'd like to get off 25 - 30 pounds before that trip.

The company I work at pays for a gym membership, so I signed up yesterday. I hope to get started soon, like next week (I have to go to an orientation lunch first). This may help, as it is really hard to find time at home to get exercise in.

Good luck to everyone.

I'm following from the other thread on the Cruise Board too. I haven't been doing too badly. So far I've lost 13.6 pounds since January 1. The last couple weeks I've only been able to work on the food intake, since I am still unable to exercise after the surgery. Right now I am limiting portions, eating 6 small meals a day, and avoiding bad fats, white flour, sugar, and alcohol. I'm also including what they call a MUFA (mono unsaturated fats; like olive oil and nuts) with at least 3 meals a day. Haven't been hungry at all so far. I'll sure be glad when my doctor gives me the ok to start back on the treadmill. It has been 2 weeks and I hear it may be another 2 or 3 weeks before I get thumbs up for mild exercise. I still have 20 more pounds to go before the cruise in May. I'll be happy with another 15 before then. :thumbsup2

I am down a total of 20lbs since I started in November! :cheer2: I am on WW and my goal is 2lbs per week. I work out at Bally's about 5 days a week and because I have a premier membership I can take my DD 3 with me for daycare. My cruise is fast approaching (March 22nd) and I am shooting for another 15 lbs by then. The only thing is I have my swim suit. I hope it fits! It may be too big! A tip:logging what I eat has really helped me and remember to chug that water lol!

I think something is wrong with my Wii balance board. And no, it isn't the batteries - I JUST changed them. And the "carpet feet" are all securely on. According to it, I have lost around 6 pounds between Friday and today. And I weighed in at the same time each day.:confused3 So I can't WAIT to see what it tells me tomorrow. Maybe that I gained 10 pounds?!? :upsidedow

This thread is being closed since the more appropriate location for it is the DIS WISH forum. The OP has started a thread there for the DCL Cruiser WISH Team. :)

Is there some way that a moderator can merge the thread from the cruise board to this thread? It's a shame to lose all those posts.
Hope you are all ok with the way the merge happened. The original thread has the oldest posts and has become the host for the one just started here on WISH. All are now in one here on the WISH forum.

Well, I weighed myself this morning and am 5lbs lighter! :) That is in a week so I met my goal. I think it's the first time I've EVER actually hit a diet goal! Hopefully the success will help me get through the next two days of my diet. this module is tough.

How is everyone else doing?

Thanks for merging the old posts for us :) Hopefully that will keep the momentum going!

Thanks so much!

Well, I figured out my Wii Balance Board issue. The cord for the rechargable battery was not pushed in right; it was holding up the board off the floor. So no, I did NOT lose 6 pounds in 3 days (not that I really thought I did)! BUT - I did lose weight over the weekend, even with my "pizza gorge". So the trend is still downward. Eight pounds since the beginning of the year. I'm good with that!

I am a bit afraid that if I level off, I will get discouraged. Anyone else afraid of that, too?

I will be on the May 10th sailing of the wonder and am in my 3rd week of trying to loose weight. I have 30 pounds to lose and have lost 8 so far. Not too bad. I am also using wii-fit for my workouts. Love that hula-hoop!

I had a similar wii issue this morning. I decided on a whim to do a body test (even though my goal is Saturday). It said I lost 18lbs!!!!! :rotfl2: Yeah, right. I weighed on the bathroom scale and it said 5lbs. I'm happy with 5 but it'll suck the next time I do a body test and it tells me I gained 10lbs!

Congrats on the 8lbs! :thumbsup2 I love my Wii. In fact, I just finished playing Wii Olympics with dh. I'm addicted to the Free Step. I love to do it while I'm watching Biggest Loser. It keeps me going. I'm trying to figure out how to add a resistance band to it for a little extra push. I'm usually so anti-excercise that I'm amazed the Wii keeps me going.

Had my 1st weigh-in at Weight Watchers tonight since getting back on the program two weeks ago--down 7.8 :cool1: .

I started Medifast yesterday. Goal of losing 40 pounds. I'll still be about 10 pounds heavier than "ideal" for my height, but I'm still good with that. I had great success in the past with WW, but due to other health reasons I'm having to switch to a diet high in soy protein. Medifast has both prepackaged foods with a soy protein base & and 1 meal a day that you prepare yourself with lean protein (fish, chicken, etc), healthy fats (olive oil, etc), and low carb veggies (broccoli, greens & asparagus type veggies instead of carrots & fruit). I know this is only day 2, but I'm feeling great on it, and it has been quite easy to follow so far. I committed to 2 weeks on the program to see if switching to the soy works out to be a good fit for me.

Two weeks is a good goal. That's one thing I like about the 4 day diet. Each module only lasts 4 days. I can push myself through that short time. It's the diets that you start and have no end or change that kill me.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Arrrrrgh, I am so beyond frustrated, it is not even funny.

I have been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs for the last month. Just when I get down to the point I am actually losing weight, the next day, I gain a pound.

I know I overdid it at Christmas, but it should NOT take 2 months to lose Christmas weight.

On Tuesday, I weighed in. That day, I ate approximately 1,200 cals and burned approximately 725 cals. When I weighed in yesterday, I hadn't lost a single ounce. I was a little upset, but I attributed it to water weight or digestion issues. I knew it would balance out.

Yesterday, I ate approximately 1,300 cals and burned approximately 685 cals. I was pretty certain that my body had worked itself out, and I would see a loss. Then, this morning, I weighed in, and had gained a pound. I can't figure it out.

I am just gonna keep pushing through I guess.

That would be frustrating! Are you just doing aerobics or are you strength training too? Maybe you are bulidng muscle and losing fat. If so, the scale would show you are gaining weight even though you are slimming down. I'm dreading my first palateu. That is usually when I get frustrated and give up.
