We are travelling from Australia in April and only have one day to visit Sea World. I was wondering which would be best for my family (2A, 3C). Breakfast or dinner with Shamu? Thanks.

Bump!

Has anyone had the shamu dinner or breakfast and enjoyed or not enjoyed it?

Thanks

I'd like to know for exactly the same reason! I'd probably do dinner, but breakfast sounds like a grand old idea too! Initially Ididn't even realize breakfast was an option, so now I need to make the same decision!

We had the breakfast with Shamu 2 years ago. Breakfast was standard breakfast food (eggs, bacon, sausage, beverages, etc). Food was so-so, but we did this for the experience. We absolutely loved being there for the breakfast. Our breakfast was scheduled before the park opening, so it was essentially an early entry into the park, so we were able to check out some of the sites both before and after breakfast before the park got busy. If I could do things over again, I would do the breakfast again for this reason.

The Shamu experience was great and it was nice to to up close to the action. We were seated right next to the pool and had Shamu swim by many times.

Great experience.

We did breakfast with Shamu in Sep 2005 and it was a great experience. The food was good and we also were seated by the pool. It was before park hours so there was no one at the parking booths so we didn't pay for parking that day. The trainers walk around answering questions and my kids got a kick of the close-up encounters with Shamu.

We tossed around the idea of going to Sea World this summer and my dd wanted to know if we could do breakfast with Shamu again.

We did the dinner with Shamu in November 2005. We are going back to California in 3 weeks - yahoo - and will be doing it again. I thought we got a better deal by doing dinner. Dinner is $36.00 per adult and breakfast is $24.00. (kids 19.00 & 16.00) So for $12.00 more for the dinner we filled up good and only had a snack later. Food was good.

We're planning on the dinner this summer, but that is just personal preference.

If we stuffed ourselves on the breakfast... we would be sleepy and not as chipper for our day at SW. So, we'll have a light breakfast, snacks for lunch, then a big dinner with shamu. But, that's just how we prefer to do it.

I can't tell you for San Diego but... we have season passes to Sea World San Antonio. The way they schedule the shows can be tricky to manage the schedule. If the gates open at 10:00, the first show is 10:30 (dolphin/ whale) then Skamu at 11:30, then seal and otter at 12:30 and so on. If you get off of the "schedule" it's hard to get all of the shows in.
With that said, we do dinner with Shamu. Here it is buffet and pretty good. The experience is really great.
Good lick and have a great trip!
