Do they give these out at DLH? All of the websites with photos of the hotel (like wdwinfo.com) show bathrooms with shampoos that do not have mickey ear lids. Just regular round lids with mickey on the label.

I have seen previous posts with those cute ear shampoos, and I really want them!! I need to know ahead of time whether to expect them on my trip in September. Anyone been recently and gotten them?

Thanks!

They had them in May. And PPH had them last December and this June. (man I've been there a lot recently...)

I do not think GCH has them, though, isn't that sad? Poor GCH guests...

GCH does not have the Mickey ears bottles..... Really Spa H2O stuff, but no Mickey ears :thumbsup2

Yep, you get them at the DLH and the PPH. The only difference is that the DLH bottles say Disneyland Hotel on them, and PPH's bottles say Paradise Pier, but they all have the mouse ears.

The housekeeping staff (Mousekeeping) expects to put out new bottles/bath products every day, so even if you don't use the products on one day but you want extra sets, make sure to stash each day's supply in a drawer so they will put out more for you. Sometimes, if they know a guest is still there in that room and the guest leaves the full set of never-used mouse ears bottles out on the bathroom counter for them to see, Mousekeeping won't leave another set (which is what happened when I forgot to stash mine one day). They will assume you don't need anymore. They may leave them anyway, but sometimes they don't. So if you want extra sets, it is best to just take each day's supply and hide it somewhere. Now if a guest has checked out of the room and leaves full, unused bottles behind, thinking they are leaving them for the next guest, Mousekeeping will consider them as being 'used' anyway and toss them out and replace them with a new stash for the next guest. So since they will go to waste anyway if you don't keep them, might as well take all of them with you when you leave.

I accumulated several sets of these ears products and took some home with me, with the intention of sharing them with other friends. But when it dawned on me that really only one or two friends would be interested in them, I decided to give some sets away to DIS-ers. I still have one extra set, and I am waiting to find out if this one friend of mine wants it or not. If not, I will post about it here and put it up for grabs. And of course, the next time I go to DLR and stay at the PPH, I will grab as many as I can. Yes, I hoard them. So what?:lmao::lmao::lmao:

It actually really bugs me that GCH doesn't have a matching thing, b/c it makes a collection impossible, or rather, makes a matched collection impossible. Yeah, THAT is why I haven't stayed there, that's it....

Always wondered what staff does with bottles that are left. After ending up with something like 10 bottles in two stays...I'm over collecting the bottles (until GCH makes mouse-ear ones). Well, not totally true. I love the lotion they make! But the shampoo stinks and the conditioner is useless and stinks. IMO.

Anyway, the lotion is good so I'll still snag that, but I do not need more shampoo/conditioner, LOL. But then, sitting on my bathroom counter in ever-growing rows is better than in the garbage...

These are just about the cutest things in the planet!! OMG!! I would totally hoard them too if I had the opportunity! If you're letting a set go, I would absolutely love to take them off your hands!!!! :lovestruc

I know - the GCH is so unlike the other 2 DLR hotels in theming and is much more subtle in its Mickey-fication, as you know, that they don't have the cute ears bottles. We were robbed!:lmao: My friend actually did not care for scent of the H20 Spa products in the GCH, but I think a lot of other folks like it. I prefer the cute Mickey bottles, though, and I was so thrilled when PPH got them last year (I thought that DLH was going to have them exclusively) that I actually squealed with delight when I saw them in the bathroom.:lmao: The PPH had those other bottles - the red, white and black things - for SO long, and the DLH used to have them as well, and they were old and tired. They needed something new and fresh, and I think the ears bottles were the perfect 'Disney' touch.

According to my friend who used to work in hospitality, that is what hotels are supposed to do with bath products - if a guest leaves a full set behind "for the next guest," the housekeeping is supposed to consider them as being used and toss the full bottles left behind by the previous guest and put out fresh ones for the new guests. They do that because they can't be 100% certain that maybe a drop or two of the lotion or of the shampoo was not used, even if the bottle seems full, and also the steam/moisture from the shower softens and may shrivel up any small paper boxed products (like shower cap boxes or sewing kit boxes) in the bathrom as well. So it's just easier for them to put an all new set in there. I can only assume the housekeeping staff at the DLR hotels does the same thing, but there have probably been many occasions where a guest thought they were doing a nice thing by leaving their set for the next guests, but in actuality, those poor little Mickey heads will end up in the garbage (unless Mousekeeping keeps them themselves, which would not surprise me).

This friend of mine who wanted my one remaining extra set was supposed to be coming out here this year (at which time I was going to give the bottles to her), but now that the plans seem to have been scrapped, I have to double check to see if she still wants them. I reminded her before, "If you don't want these Mickey bottles, there are plenty of people on my Disney message board who want them..." And she insisted she wanted them. So I have to check again, but if she does not take them, then they will be up for grabs and you can have them! Actually, with any luck, hopefully I will be back at the PPH sometime in the next 2 - 4 months and I can hoard more of them for everybody and post about it on the DIS!:thumbsup2

I LOVE the GCH shampoos, etc.! I always hoard as many as possible and keep them in my toiletries bag for trips. The shampoo and conditioner are wonderful, and the bottles are a nice size and shape and have the Grand CA logo on them. I think they're very classy, even without the mouse ears! :thumbsup2

Those are the CUTEST thing EVER!! We are going in September and believe me I WILL be stashing them!!:rotfl2:

I'm back to being happy about my stay again! I wanted those bottles so badly! And then looking at photos on the web, with those red, white and black bottles, my heart sank! I *need* some mouse ear shampoo bottles!!!

And thanks for the tip on removing them each day. We are only there for two nights - - I will definitely hide them in my suitcase each day. :)

And Bumbershoot, I can dump out the nasty smelling stuff when I get home and refill with better fare. I will keep one set pristine, and put the other re-filled set in my travel gear. :)

Can't wait to get them!

My wife and I had a disagreement about me taking the toiletries when we stayed at DLH last year, but she finally agreed to let me take some home. The only problem is I don't have the heart to use them as I like having them as souveniers. We'll be staying at PPH next time and we've already come to the agreement that we'll take all of them home this time.

I took 2 sets from the PPH, my BFF took the other 2. :) We use one set of bottles for our traveling, we have 1 set on display in the girls bathroom. They are so cute in there, next to the Princess shower stuff. :)

I want to stay at the DLH so I can get MORE bottles!!! LOL I love them. I also love the H2o products at the GCH, LOVED The smell of the shampoo & conditioner, LOVE the lotion. I want them to put that stuff in cute Mickey bottles. lol

I used to get a kick out of collecting these and bringing them home for my little cousins.. now not so much..

This is sort of an old thread, but right on point. I know - and have - the H2O products, but I really like what the 'Mickey Ears' shampoo does for my hair.

Anyone have any idea who manufactures it?

It's also made by H20, unless something has changed in the last couple of years. H20 makes - or used to make - most of the toiletries found at the DLR or WDW hotels. In fact, on some of the old packaging (pre-Mickey ears bottles), you could see H20 in teeny tiny print on the back. And a bottle someone brought me from Port Orleans in WDW says H20 on the back in fine print.

It's just that the majority of the products in the Disney hotels rooms are in Disney-specific packaging while the stuff you find in the GCH has bottles that more clearly say H20 Spa, but the actual 'blends' are made by the same people. They probably use the cheaper H20 stuff for certain hotels and stick that in some Disney packaging, and the higher-end stuff for the GCH goes in the non-Disneyfied bottles.

I stayed at Paradise Pier last summer and they had them. I know that the villas at the Grand do not though.
