DD went to a local horse show today and rode in 4 classes. SHe placed 1st in two classes (Jumping and English Equitation) and 3rd in another (English Pleasure). This was her first jumping show and she was very nervous. Most of her competition were teen and adults. She was fantastic. I'm so proud of her. I wish DH was here to see it.

She won, She won. Woot Woot She won:cool1::cool1::woohoo::cool1:
I'm shameless (but at least I admit it.)

Congrats to your daughter!

Little celebrating tonight of her victory?

Thanks! I wish she was home celebrating, but she had a sleepover to go to so we'll have to celebrate tomorrow evening.

That is great!

Congratulations to your DD and to you, too. :)

You must be so stoked. We moms just love seeing our kids win. :sunny:

Awww...you're a horse mom.

Congrats. I miss my days of competition, but I don't think my parents miss the hassel.

Thanks!

Zypher, I love all the hassle (so far). LOL

That's great! Her wins will give her even more confidence next time.

Great job!!!! I swear I am more nervous than my DD is when she shows!!

Congrats to your daughter! I tell my riding students all the time that I get psychological saddle sores watching them show. When they're on course, I am at the in-gate mentally riding each stride with them. It's kind of funny. I've got the show-moms doing it now too.

So now, we need pictures! I LUVS me some equitation winners!! Was her over-fences class hunters or eq?

Our show got rained out yesterday...bummer. We made up for it with the barn Halloween party last night. The horse costumes were hilarious.

That is great!! :thumbsup2 Congratulations certainly in order. Hope she keeps up the good work. Neat!! :cool1:

No pictures....I suck. I got a good video of her running the pole pattern, but my pictures are awful.
I think the fence class was equitation. They didn't classify it. Like I said it was a local show, nothing fancy (although the judge they brought in was an experienced show judge). Before they started they mentioned form, seat, correct leads, spacing, etc. And it wasn't timed.
The best part of the day is that no one fell.:goodvibes

That's so awesome! Congrats to your DD! :thumbsup2 I love watching horse shows, people don't realize how much work it really is. Your daughter should be very proud of herself!

Yes! I was so nervous for her. But I didn't need to be, she's got her act together.

I usually get a sick feeling in my stomach driving to the horse shows...I don't know why though? :confused3 I asked DD once if she got nervous and she said, "nope"...

What's wrong with us?

What's wrong with us?

We're Mom's! :goodvibes

On a side note....I am jumping for joy today.:yay: My DD's gelding has been sick sick sick lately...I had a new vet come out on Friday for a second opinion and apparently it was the right decision!! The swelling in his legs is gone...his temp is normal and he is acting like a horse again, not a stump in the pasture.

I have been soo worried about him lately and the new vet apparently had the solution.

Don't want to hijack your thread, but I figured as a horse show mom and fellow horse lover you would understand my happiness right now!! :thumbsup2

Oh I long for the days when my D was showing ! CONGRATS I know you must be so proud !!wait till she wants to show Western and English and you are standing in the trailer trying to remember what is next and praying that you hve your child in the right clothes LOL.
