Everyone says the shakes are one of the best things to get at Sci-Fi.
Can you get one as a beverage for free on the dining plan?

It's listed on their menu as a "speciality" drink, which are NOT included on the plan, so I'd say the chances are slim (won't say absolutely no, because there have been lots of reports of different CMs allowing certain things that others don't....while it probably couldn't hurt to ask.....I wouldn't count on it).

Wouldn't seem it would work as a "snack" on the plan either since it's $4.29, which is over the magic number of $4 that some are saying is the ceiling for the snack ticket.

As long as you don't get the glowing cube, the shakes are counted as a desert.

Like anything else it depends on the server. We were there on Wednesday and the server offered the adults shakes as a beverage, but they were not allowed for the children. My husband got one as his beverage on the DDP and my son drank it. We also got dessert. The one thing I found on the DDP was that no two TS places were the same. So just ask the server. The worst that can happen is that she says no.

Same here. We were just there last week and our waitress offered it up front as a beverage for all three of us. OMG they were DELICIOUS!!! We also had desert too. Maybe we looked really hungry???:confused3 :rotfl:

We also got the shakes offered as a beverage when we went last November, so I guess it all depends on the waiter or waitress.=0) We had the Oreo Milkshake and it was really yummy. also like a previous Dis member mentioned glow cubes are not included with the dining package.:goodvibes

We ordered milkshakes as our beverage on the dining plan both times we have gone. They allow them for the adult beverage but not for the kids.

We went there the first week of June. The server actually said "Get a shake as your drink it is included on your plan." So we all had Shakes and Water for our drink then we still got a dessert (pigs...I know!!!!) I realize they are trying to help thier tips by having people order the more expensive things...but we just got them.

We also got shakes as drinks there, and they let my daughter get one as her dessert. That was perfect because we took it to go and she had it while waiting for Fantasmic!

TOTALLY up to the server. We ate there in February and had one "car", while my brother-in-law and his family had the "car" right next to us. Both families were on the DDP and we had different servers. Ours allowed us to get it as a beverage and we also were able to order a dessert, the next table over was allowed to have the shake only as a dessert.

Glow cubes look like a block of ice and inside that block there is a neon light that blinks in your drink. The light is either blue, green , or red. When your done with your drink you could take the block and under it there is a button that you press to turn off the little light. Of course you get to keep it so you could re-use it in another drink over and over again.:goodvibes

Thanks, that is what I figured that they were. I have seen them referred to before, and just wondered. Thanks for taking the time to answer. :goodvibes
