Anyone been there lately?

We have reservations for mid-September; there is a slight (maybe $20 a day?) discount as Evergreens will be closed during that time.

We stayed for one night about two weeks ago. It was pretty quiet. Our room was ready when I popped in before 11 a.m. and it was a great stay. We decided not to go to the parks on the last day since weekends were busier when we were there and we'd done everything. So we just hung around Shades. One thing to know is the pool hours are different, Mill Pond open from 10 am - 4 pm and the magnolia pool from 4 - 10 p.m. We did miss Evergreens, but the Bistro to Go was excellent.
(Nice you got a discount, I think SOG had canceled most if not all of their discounts a couple of weeks ago.)

I recommend you check the last few pages of the main SOG thread for more experiences leading into Sept. Have a great trip! :)

We will be there January 2021. The rates were higher than when we originally booked in May.

I wasn't sure if Shades would rebook under the same price for a reschedule due to the closure, I guess they don't?
From what I've been able to tell, Shades usually increases their rates every fall though, I think around Oct 1st.

January is a great time to go!

Looking for some more updates about staying at Shades of Green. In-laws have a trip scheduled end of Feb/first week of May. They've stayed several times at SoG, but not since closure/re-opening. I know more can change before their dates. I saw on website that the bigger buffet restaurants is still closed? any other resort closures they would need to know about? We know the Poly monorail stop is n/a right now, so they can adjust for that mode of transportation,
How is bus service? In the past, they've always managed to get on the scheduled busses, with no issues, like it was never so full they couldn't be picked up. is SoG limiting bus seating like the Disney busses? we've been on Disney busses since reopening, so we know how that seating works.
Any other SoG tips/advice? I know much can change before March.
