Shades of green vs. Property resorts?

Has anybody bought Military price tickets on base before arriving at Disney?

I know if you purchase military tickets at the park, you have to show military ID.

Does the military person have to be at the park with you to activate the ticket to get into the park?

I haven't bought tickets on base, but have purchased them through SOG and DH did have to show his ID to activate them at a ticket booth. We did it at AK one time and at the TTC on our last trip. What I'm not sure of is if a dependent spouse can do it. I'm pretty sure this has been addressed earlier in this thread.

A dependent spouse can do it as long as they have a current ID. Retired and retired spouses can too - my MIL did it for us at DLR.
