Do you have to put your deposit on a credit card or can you send it? Can you pay monthly on it like you can with the Disney resorts?

Every time we book SOG we are ask for a CC for the deposit.Several years ago I tried to pay off our room reservation prior to our arrival at SOG but when I called to ask where to send the check to, or could they charge my CC for the balance I was told they don't take any prepayment except the deposit. I would just call their 800 number and ask. I have always found them very helpful.

We've always had to put a CC down and they'll take out the first nights room rate (within a week), you pay the rest on arrival. However, we were allowed to send in payments in 06. We called and asked about making payments to the balance before we arrived and was told you can send in payments with a certain form (that SOG had to send us, they sent several), we got the payment forms and then decided just to wait and pay when we arrived.

It'd be better if you could do it on the phone (and maybe you can by now? I don't know), but if you are insistent you can go about paying before you arrive in other ways (like I mentioned). Do take into consideration this was in 06 so the policy may have changed since then.

Didn't want to sound "snarky"...hate that word, but have had people post questions like this on the boards, and days later still not get an answer, or the answer they wanted. I'm interested because we may be booking SOG in September or January for their "Salute to Veterans" deal. Good luck, and hope someone responds.

It is very easy to make pre-payments. Certainly, you have to make a deposit using a credit card, but if you want to make an additional payment toward the balance you must use a money order or personal check and mail it in. Call the hotel reservation line and they will give you the address. I am sorry, I don't have the address readily available. I have made pre-payments to have my rooms paid in advance for many years now. Most recent one was done a few months ago. Once payment is received, they will send you an e-mail showing the new deposit that has been applied.

They do NOT take a credit card for an additional payment.
