Shades of Green question

I have a friend who just recently retired from the military. He would like to take his kids to Disney. I was going to recommend he look into staying at Shades of Green but I didn't know if he is eligible since he is no longer active duty.

I read recently that they are running a special for vets for arrivals in September and January. Maybe this is something that might be an interest to them. My hubby is a vet and former DOD employee. We've never stayed at SOG, so are thinking about it in January for one or two nights. You might have to do a search to find the thread that contains the link for SOG website.

If he has truly retired (20+ years) and not just ended his military commitment of x number of years, then yes they may book Shades of Green. The hotel is for active military, retired military and DOD employees. My husband retired from the Navy and we both ( I may stary without him with my military ID) have taken advantage of this wonderful resort. Very reasonable and some of the largest regular hotel rooms on Disney property. They may also purchase park tickets, PI tickets, and other area attraction tickets at a discount.
