Does SoG have a printer in the lobby where guests can use it?

While not familiar with SOG, I can say that most of the actual Disney resorts do not have this. The deluxe level resorts considered to be 'convention' resorts do have a business center with this kind of access for a price.. but I don't know about SOG.

There are computers just off the lobby, near the Starbucks that have a printer. They are mostly used by kids playing online games. You have to rent the computer time, plus pay for each copy. On our last trip in June, I accessed our airline's website and printed 5 airline boarding passes. It cost a total of $1.75 and took about 5 min. There's a credit card swiper on each computer. Guest services can print for you also. They charge $1.00 per page.

Do you just need to print a boarding pass? If so, I'm sure the front desk would do that for free. If not, then just do it a one of the park's Guest Services locations.

SOG front desk will not print out airline boarding passes for free. I inquired about it during our stay in June and was told to go through the procedure I outlined in my previous post. I don't believe Guest Service centers in the parks provide free boarding pass printing service. They are there primarily to assist park guests with providing information about the park, make dining reservations, and help in the location of lost guests. Many Disney resorts have a complimentary airline check-in and boarding pass service for particular airlines. :)

That's too bad about SOG, but I know for a fact that G.S. will assist with airline check-in and boarding passes as we were able to take care of this @ MGM. I went inside the G.S. location and a very kind CM led me through the VIP lounge to an area that had a computer and printer where I was able to check-in and get the boarding passes. I believe many others have been able to do this as well.

Here's a list of what MGM Guest Relations provides to the average guest (per allears):

Guest Relations - Located near the main entrance to the left of the turnstiles. There is also a Guest Relations desk just inside the park on your left, as well as at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset, in the Hollywood Junction. Guest Relations provides the following assistance:
-- Messages for separated parties
-- Lost and Found
-- Disney Dollar exchange
-- Foreign Currency exchange
-- Information about services for guests with disabilities
-- Information about Sign Language services
-- Information about behind the scenes educational programs
-- Information on VIP tours
-- Disney resort reservations and dining priority seating
-- Guide Maps in Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Japanese

You must have encountered a generous CM or are entitled to VIP services that SOG guests and most Disney guests, for that matter, would not be eligible for. I'm not trying to create an argument here. I'd just hate for people to read about your experience getting boarding passes at a park Guest Relations center and think it's the norm for everybody, creating hassles and confusion for CMs and guests alike. Many Disney and off-site resorts provide airline boarding pass service for free or a nominal fee (such as SOG). One's hotel guest relations is the most appropriate place to inquire about such servce.

Geez, this has gotten a bit off-topic. My apologies to the OP who only wanted to know about using a printer. :flower3:

Nope -- I'm definitely not a VIP (and didn't get any special treatment). Whether you choose to believe it or not, Guest Services will assist you with online check-in. There have been many previous threads concerning this very subject.

Also, the thread is not O/T in anyway if OP had questions regarding a printer because they were concerned about getting boarding passes for the flight home.

Calypso has this right..

Guest Services in the parks and even probably at a Disney resort where you are not even staying will print a boarding pass for you upon demand. No charge.

Flying southwest we didn't have to print our passes. We just logged in 24 hours before the flight and had the airline print our A boarding passes at check-in. We were visiting Grandpa after our SOG stay and got free wireless outside of Panera Bread. Have a great trip. Our family loved SOG!

Guest Services at Animal Kingdom checked us in for Southwest and printed out our boarding passes. I was in and out of there in less than 5 minutes. She seemed as if she did it quite often. MGM would have done it as well, but I had left my confirmation number in the van.

As for Shades of Green. You have to use the one by the coffee stand if it's not filled up with kids playing games. Also if it's a file you need it has to be on one a flash/thumb drive.

Here's the reply I received in response to an email I sent requesting information on the ability to do online check-in:

Ms. Xxxxxxxx,

We have two options for printing boarding passes. Our guest services will be happy to assist or we have internet stations with printing capabilities. If I can assist you further, please feel free to contact me.

Kindest Regards,

Courtney

There's nothing mentioned about a charge for this service, but since hildarumpole has had first-hand experience, it would probably be a good idea to bring a couple of bucks with you to get your boarding passes printed. (If that's even what OP was inquiring about.)
