SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Thread

At SOG now, Anyone have questions?

You are great to do this for us. :cool1:

Since we have to "activate" tickets at the TTC, how late are the ticket windows open? If I recall properly, the SOG bus drops you off close to the ticket window. Perhaps the hours are posted.:confused3

Thanks

Just booked three long weekends at Shades, one in September for our18th anniversary, one in October for Food & Wine Fest and one in December for our son's birthday and to see the parks decorated for Christmas. DH just accepted a civilian DOD job at the beginning of this year and we became eligible to stay here so we tried it for the first time in May and fell in love. We stayed at Caribbean beach resort in June due to a reservation we already had with a code and we were so disappointed with the size of the rooms and the beds. We can't wait to get back to Shades where it is so much more relaxing.

I want to plan a vacation!!! :hyper:

You can always do what I do when I don't have a real one to plan. I plan my dream vacation. It is usually the high end of everything. Then I look at the price and laugh. :lmao:But it sure is fun to plan. :thumbsup2

Planning a vacation for 33 days from now! Hoping that we can still do it even with the furlough!!!

You don't have to do it at the TTC. You can activate them at any ticket booth at a park also. Last trip we activated ours at the AK ticket booth since we went straight there after checking in. This trip, we're arriving on a Sunday ~lunchtime, but won't be going to the parks til Monday, so we plan to walk to the TTC and activate them there because it's one less thing to do Monday morning, but it really only takes a couple of minutes to activate them.

ETA, if you are going to MK, then, yes, the TTC is where you need to stop and activate. I also did a google search and everything I've found says that one booth is open til park closing.

Thanks for the info. We will be arriving late Sunday and will be doing MK Monday. We go at rope drop so really do not want to hassle with tickets first thing Monday morning when the lines can be longer. So a short hop to TTC is in order for Sunday evening. Thanks again for the info.

Last trip was in 2010. Planning to return in 2015/16. I've read about the pools at SOG. Anything else new at SOG since mid-2010? Everyone's looking forward to visiting the expanded Fantasyland!! :)

Other than the coffee/ice cream shops being relocated to the lobby and Made in the Shade and the AAFES stores being remodeled, not that I can think of. We were last there in 2011.

I am back. Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

I don't know the hours for the ticket office for Disney.

Shades ticket office is 8 am to 7 pm.

The hours for the Express Cafe were extended since the last time I was at SOG, they were open until 8 pm.

The Java Cafe in the Lobby is open until 10 pm. It has coffee and pastries, ice cream and also serves as the Lobby Bar.

Thanks bdcp!
