Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to rpovide extra shade for my 8mo son while at disney? We want to take a stroller from home, but the only one that is "travel friendly" has a smaller shade on it that I just don't think would provide enough protection in the parks...

I used to bring a lightweight receiving blanket to drape it over the front of the stroller's hood.

There's also something you can buy and attach to your stroller to provide extra shade. I can't recall what it's called, but I saw them at Babies R Us. I'm sure someone here will know what they're called.

Yea, there is one called ProtectABub? Like a giant stretchy one that fits over the stroller. I've seen a lot of people that say they put a blanket over it though, and clip it on using clothespins or things like that.

Here is the link to that company :) http://www.protect-a-bubusa.com/

we have a kiddopotamus shade and it is fantastic. Covers any stroller really well. Would highly recommend it.

I used a Protect a bub... You can manipulate it so that it covers a lot more than you think it can!! Here's a shot of my (then 6 yr old) daughter hanging out in in my Maclaren... The side to the back(our left) is elastic, it will stretch to whatever size canopy you need. It ties to the frame - wherever it works for you. The front part you just pull back and forth, depending on where the sun is. It worked very well...!

I left the cover on all week, it folded up easily whenever I folded up the stroller canopy. Easy!

I would recommend getting a clip-on battery operated fan. It helped keep the air flowing on the hot days... I used it mostly when DS2 was napping and there was no breeze. :thumbsup2

The one by Kiddopotamus is called a Rayshade. It also offers you extra UV protection. We have used this for years and love it. It similar to the one CTtwins posted but velcros on. We also just left this on the stroller throughout the park and when folded up on the bus. Here is the link to Amazon if it works, otherwise just type in rayshade and it will come up.
