Sexuality (accepting or not)

On another forum I'm on a topic about books that were banned for a variety of reasons turned into a censorship thing and one of the things that came up was sexuality...and it made me wonder if people really weren't open to the fact other people aren't straight...so I thought I'd ask here...

Are you accepting of people regardless of their sexuality?
and if not, why?

this is kind of like a research project for me really haha

I definitely am very accepting of anyone not matter what their sexual preference is. I'm actually a huge supporter of LGBT(etc). Last weekend I went to the Pride Parade in Toronto and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
So many people in love and happy, it was so amazing.

I don't understand why anyone WOULD have a problem with who someone else loves.
It's not hurting you...

Perfectly stated, I completely agree.
Someone's sexual orientation isn't anyone's business but their own, and I would judge anyone on it. I'm completely accepting of it.

Sadly there are people out there like that...in college when we had to watch an advert it involved two men kissing, it was really sweet...but all the boys (except me) were like "thats disgusting", "Its not natural" etc. and it just annoys me they hate people based on their sexuality...though they don't know mine...but the ones who assume I am gay completely ignore me and that I feel is really annoying for two reasons:
1)Assuming and not asking me if I am
2)Why it should matter if I am...because I know I am...have done for about 5-6 years...though I've only just been able to admit it to myself in the last month.

Everyone has a right to have their own life, and live it the way they want to. They don't judge us for being straight? Why should we judge them for being gay?

Of course I am. Another person's sexuality does not harm me in any way, shape or form, so there's no reason for me not to be accepting of it.

And anyway, I'd rather see two men/women kissing than two men/women fighting any day.

Thats true, people sholdn't be treated different if they're gay, bi, lesbian etc. Its abit of a silly thing to judge some on...I've met really friendly gay people and really nasty ones, same with straight people.

Agreed more girls are ok with it, the only male friends I've had who (as far as I know) who are comfortable are gay (well 2) and only one is straight...and the other I've no idea haha.

Who cares if a guy loves a guy, or a girl loves a girl? It's their life. I would be fine if my best friend, or relative, or whoever was gay or bi. I don't get why some people care so much.

I have to say its actually really nice to see how many open minded people there are here, I was expecting quite a few rude and negative comments ...but I'm glad to see the world isn't completely filled with close minded people

but it annoys me when gay people like, have a chip on their shoulder and bring it up into everything.

but that attitude annoys me with everything, like women's rights, racism, etc.

i think this world would be so much better and a much more peaceful place if other people accepted people and where more open minded.
