Sexuality (accepting or not)

i think this world would be so much better and a much more peaceful place if other people accepted people and where more open minded.
::yes::

i wish the world was filled with love, its unfortunate ppl cannot see past someone's sexuality.

i don't care who you have sex with. :confused3

but it annoys me when gay people like, have a chip on their shoulder and bring it up into everything.

but that attitude annoys me with everything, like women's rights, racism, etc. :confused3

Ditto. I hate when people do that. It'll be seemingly random, too. The middle of a conversation, then "well, I'm gay. I hope that doesn't bother you." Then the next day, taking sports "well, as a gay man, I think it's ridiculous that straight people assume we don't know what we're talking about when it comes to sports. Being gay...." yaddayaddayadda. It annoys me to no end when people constantly bring their "fighting point" up.

Anyway. I'm accepting of pretty much everything. That said, I'm also bisexual. That said, I hate it when anybody tries to make me believe something I don't.

That said, I think this thread will be closed soon.

Just going to post the other side.

For me personally,
~Love is love, you shouldn't be treated any differently because of your preference.

I'm accepting of the relationships, but because of my religious beliefs I don't support gay marriage. But the relationships&such don't bother me.

lol am I the first one that has trouble accepting it? Break it down. Me = suburban Christian kid raised by very conservative parents. That basically explains my problems with it haha.

And I have no friends who are different then me in that manner. There's actually only one person at my school who's bi, but she just graduated. I guess the fact I haven't been raised around anyone at all plays a part in that.

Then add in the fact I spend a lot of time in Cincinnati, which basically is the reason Bush won his second term as president. Very conservative over there too and very anti-homosexuality.

i accept everyone. one of my best friends is gay. but i hate when people dont accept it too.. like my dad.. we have fights about it alot b.c he doesnt accept it and it bothers me. everyone deserves love.

Yes! I'm very accepting of people, but I am so tired when they use it as an excuse for everything. People don't have to mention that they're gay every other time we talk. I know! I don't care! It does not make you more knowledgable of everything!

I've sort of always held the opinion that they aren't doing anything to harm us so why should we harm them by not accepting them for who they truly are?
This past year I have met a few people who are openly gay and honestly, they are some of the coolest people I met all year. One person I can always lean on if I need help and I know he's always there for me. I don't see him as being gay...I see him as my friend.

I'm accepting. I couldn't care less who someone loves, as long as they don't try to steal muh man ;]

im from iowa(which recently passed the legal gay marriage thing). I thought it was kind of weird because id never seen any gay people before. It never really changed the way i treat them. They are still people and no matter what you do they wont change their mind, so don't waste your time and their time to stop them. If you dont want to see it, dont look.

Sorta same with me;

Born in the DEEEP south! Raised my two strong Republican southerns. My dad is very conservative! My mom, more open to certain things. Both Christians also!

"Country" people I've noticed have more of a problem with it. All my uncles on my dad's side, (whom I don't even like:headache:) always have something to say about gays(etc) same with my aunts.

My mom's side is actually more open, but still being strong conservative republicans aren't big fans of the whole idea.

THANKFULLY I was raised in a family where I can make my own decisions about things I believe in, and agree or disagree with.

I fell that you should do what you want to do ing your life to make you happy, so yes im accepting.

"be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind"

i say if it makes you happy, go for it.

i will admit, though, that when i see a gay couple i find it out of the ordinary. and my friends may joke about it and i'll go along with it.

I don't care who you want to love and in what way you want to show it.
Who am I to tell you who you can and cannot love?

If you're nice and we get along, we're friends.
Regardless of who you love.
I'm not going to judge.

Yeah I kind of thought that when I made it, though its not like were talking about anything wrong...sexuality is an everyday thing really.

That reminds me of the bit in the Prop 8 : The Musical:
Gay People: Our Love is not a sin
Political people: Well The Bible says it so
Jesus: Well The Bible says alot of things you know
....
Gay people: What else does the bible say Jesus?
Jesus: The Bible says alot of interesting things, like you: can stone your wife, sell your daughter into slavery
Political People: Well We Ignore those verses:
Jesus: Well friend it seems to me, you pick and choose, please choose love instead of hate

This is going to sound weird.... But my parents raised me to accept anyone and I'm completely fine with homosexuality. But bisexuality bugs me. When people says they're bi-curious, I don't mind. It's only when somebody commits to the label of bisexuality. I feel like they're just confused and will just get over it soon.

Please don't bash me, it's just my opinion.

My parents raised me to be accepting and telling me that it is their choice and it doesnt affect me. They reminded me that if i chose that path, that they would still love me.

Cody: i agree on the bisexuality thing.

Thank you. I thought everyone would hate me for saying that :P

Yeah, I agree with you, too.
