~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

YAY   :cool1: :cool1:
I just found out that I had calculated the time difference wrong. So if I'm right I don't have to be up very late because the time in my heck of the woods will be 4PM :cool1: :cool1:

Your bags are fabulous!!! Here's hoping for a GREAT return in you investment into each and every one! :goodvibes

So, about the "tween" bag...is this something that you will list as a "regular" now? :confused3 That is a great size, and I am thinking it would be perfect for my girls. Just curious! :thumbsup2

Hi,

They are all amazing. You have created another set of unbelievable matched/coordinated colors to themes. I just love so many of them but the Chip&Dale and Cruella are pulling at my heartstrings. I've been pretty quiet (like nothing for months) but following along as usual.

Random thoughts now that I have actually started typing:

It is so hard seeing your parents needing your help and trying to make helping them part of your "new normal". I am glad that your dad is doing better. You are doing an amazing job with juggling everything you do and you are LOOKING GOOD!!

Your trip is coming up soon and I am jelly. We are in the same boat as you after this trip. I don't see another trip in the future for a year or so and it is just killing me. Please, try to post some pics while you are gone so I can dream. You guys too (Mo and Suzi) please..........

Kathy my thoughts and prayers are with you too and sorry that I am posting that here but you know how I like to hide.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Jane

JANE!!! Where have you been?!?!?!

Sen pixie dust and prayers for the job interview!

OMG! I am in LOVE with the cupcake bag! You need to make a listing for a child's size cross body bc I would love a bag like that for Olivia!

Oh my!! I love all of the bags you have posted and I just can't decide which ones are my favorites.

I love Olaf, Figment, and Cupcake Minnie:)

Thanks for the warm welcome and for allowing me to get my post # up on your page:)

I just hope it doesn't annoy anyone.

Good luck to Ali today at her interview at Target/Starbucks!!

That would be an awesome first job and she would learn awesome customer service skills. Of course she would see the good and bad sides of people but still important life skills none the less.

I am hopeful you get some relief with your back injury. I hope the doctor can give you some answers.

Don't want to be suffering when you are in Disney!!:thumbsup2

Plus don't want it to interfere with your lifting regimen as it is now:guilty:

Congrats on your awesome weight loss!! I was so happy to hear you say that you were able to buy your Target dresses in a size large:yay: Such a great feeling that is!!

Your result pictures are amazing!!

So what ADR are you looking most forward to this trip?

Are you trying anywhere new??

My ADR's so far and I am sure they will change as they always do!

Kona Cafe-Breakfast
LeCellier-Dinner
Ohana-Dinner
Yak-n-Yeti-Lunch
California Grill-Dinner
Coral Reef-Lunch

There are so many other ressies I would like to make but since we have choosen to Table Service meals that take 2 credits these will have to suffice..

I forgot to mention another first for us!!

We are going to The Hoop-De-Doo Revue:yay:

Something else I have wanted to do for a long time but never made it work.

I think we have decided to skip MNSSHP:(

Cant get my husband that excited about it!!
I know he would love the parade and fireworks but we are not that into the Character Meet-n-Greets so we may just do La Nouba again instead!!

If you have never been to Cirque it is a must do for us!!

We have been to the show twice and both times enjoyed it very much:)

I love the cupcake bag!! I hate it for anybody who was hoping it would be a Vanellope bag but I think personally the Disney cupcake will be more meaningful for a long time. I've told my husband that on our next Disney vacation I'm having a different cupcake everyday! That bag is a Disney dessert foodie's dream. And of course I love pink. Awesome bag!

The Snow White bag is beautiful but I'm just not a Snow White fan. But your workmanship really has me thinking that if I ever get my own D~ original that maybe I could get a Belle bag. Beauty and the Beast is my ABSOLUTE favorite movie, not just Disney. I remember you posted a set once that had Mrs. Potts and Chip on the bag and several other accessories and I loved the entire set!!!

Then again, I love all your bags. I lean towards the more iconic bags like Mickey, Minnie, Sorcerer Mickey, Goofy, or the castle. But I haven't seen a bag yet that I wouldn't be proud to call my own or spread the word about where it came from. I think my husband gets irritated because I show him all the bags and say "Honey, oh please! This would be the best Christmas/birthday/mother's day/you just deserve something pretty present ever!!"

Great work!! Don't be concerned that your hard work won't sell! Be concerned that your auction is going to turn into Walmart on Black Friday! LOL

Lisa :wave2:

Ohhh there's a Goofy bag!!! They all came out great, I expect a bidding frenzy!

AGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRR

Cupcake (Minnie specifically) is the theme for my birthday trip this year! And I love the simplicity of Sailor Mickey...perfect for the cruise that accompanies my birthday trip!

Beautiful!

Nini

All ten of the bags are just wonderful! At this point I can't decide on a favorite at all! I still haven't decided if I want to bid or not because I really don't need more bags do I? But I probably won't be able to resist when the time comes. Now to decide which one I want to bid on. Oh I do know I won't be bidding on the Mickey Vampire one since I already have the first bag.

I do hope you find a solution for your back pain soon. I have a nerve I pinch once in a while in my lower back, usually when I'm bending over to pick something up. But it only hurts for a day or two and then I'm fine so I've never gone to a doctor for it.

Hahaha... I agree - you probably dont' want to bid on the Vampire Mickey one.

I hope so too... It wouldn't bother me so much, but I can't do my lifting -and that is bothering me a lot.

Those bags turned out great. I envy your applique ability. Neither my machine or I can do that. I think Figament is my favorite.
Things have been quiet around here. We had some big storms round through, but the worst of the damage missed us. I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can go to Petsmart for some cat food. One of my cats has allergies and can only eat the expensive stuff. I may stop at Super K and see if they have some of the food Walmart didn't have yesterday. the super center near me never has food. Last week they had no fresh meat. That's not the store I work at, though. I work a one of the small Walmarts. We're land locked and can't be expanded.
Liz

Thanks Liz. I am glad the storms missed you... Hopefully you were able to find cat food.

D, I love the additional bags (especially Figment).

Sending lots of for Alli.

Thanks Kathy.

How are YOU doing?

Good luck to Alli today!

I have grand plans for winning Powerball and when I do, I think I'm going to hire you to make bags for me full time.I love all the bags you've done. I am going to be busy during your auction! I need to spend some time reviewing all the bags and figuring out who in my family needs which one and how much I'm willing to spend on them.

Even though last night was crazy for you, it sounds like the good kind of crazy - reconnecting with friends. I am jealous of you having a neighbor who is having a baby soon. I am in serious need of a newborn fix and all of my friends who live close by are done having babies. This is another major drawback to DH and I both being only children - no nieces and nephews to dote on!

I hope you have a great day today and are ready for the auction ahead of schedule. I hope you can find a solution for the back pain soon!

Hahaha... I have a feeling that you may have to fight some of my other customers to have me sew for you exclusively. LOL But it would b fun to do.

Yes, it was fun! I enjoy the people around me (both IRL and online) so much - I am very lucky.

Thank you... I think I am ready for the auction... As usual - I am very nervous about it.

Sounds like you had a good day yesterday.

Good luck to Alli today.

Lovely bags. It's nice to see Figment on a bag

Thanks Lillian - from both Alli and I.

Yah - I just KNEW I had to do a Figment bag - it's been 2 years since I've done one and I've never done one for an auction.

OK - I'm outing myself as a lurker here too. I've followed along here and there and love seeing all the bags you create. Anyway - as I was in my sewing room last night, I had a thought about the black on black applique issue. No idea what made me think about your applique at that moment, but I did. Have you tried outlining the applique with a marking pen? I have a white one that I love that erases with a warm iron. If you drew around the applique with the white pen, then you'd be able to see it better when you stitch it.

As I said, it was just a thought. I'll go back to lurking now!!

Welcome!!! So happy to have you here and out of lurkdom... Stay out and play!!! :lovestruc

I do have a pencil I use to outline the edges, and it does help... I have never seen a white pen though - I will keep my eyes open for that, because I bet a pen would work better than a pencil. Thank you for the suggestion.

Dee - your bags are amazing! You do a great job with fabric and color. And your applique looks flawless. I hope you get lots of money for them.

Thank you Sue! I hope so too... for sure, enough to pay off this trip.

Oh my goodness! I saw the one I want. But I am not telling which. There are going to be some busy bidding. I am going to have to set my alarm for 6 am on Saturday, just to make sure I don't lose out on the one I want while I am sleeping away. I love the tween bag. Perfect size for someone like Chelsea's age.

Hahaha... I am sure we will all find out soon enough. ::yes::

Yah - I am really happy with the Tween bag... It's a nice size, shows a person's Disney love, yet it's small and easy to carry.

YAY
I just found out that I had calculated the time difference wrong. So if I'm right I don't have to be up very late because the time in my heck of the woods will be 4PM

Yay Lillian... I am in the central time zone... So, by the time I get all these replies done, I will be posting this at about 6:30am my time.

Your bags are fabulous!!! Here's hoping for a GREAT return in you investment into each and every one!

So, about the "tween" bag...is this something that you will list as a "regular" now? That is a great size, and I am thinking it would be perfect for my girls. Just curious!

Thanks Oopsi... Yes, I will be adding it to my regular line... As long as the people who get one in the auction like it. ::yes:: And even if they don't - if someone wants one bad enough, I'd be happy to do that bag.

I want them all...

all....

Hahaha!

Jane!!!!!!!!!! Where have you been????? I have missed you!

Thank you - my dad is doing better... I will be at his house on Saturday.

I will be posting pictures while we are in Disney. Are you friends with me on FB (Sorry, I can't remember)...

Thanks so much for stopping by... I've been worried about you. :lovestruc

JANE!!! Where have you been?!?!?!

My thoughts exactly. popcorn::

Your bags are amazing! I love all of them!

Thank you! I saw that you are from MN... Where? I am just south of the Cities.

Sen pixie dust and prayers for the job interview!

OMG! I am in LOVE with the cupcake bag! You need to make a listing for a child's size cross body bc I would love a bag like that for Olivia!

Thanks Terri.

Hahaha... You should be very happy today then.

Oh my!! I love all of the bags you have posted and I just can't decide which ones are my favorites.

I love Olaf, Figment, and Cupcake Minnie

Thanks for the warm welcome and for allowing me to get my post # up on your page

I just hope it doesn't annoy anyone.

Thank you... Anytime... Always happy to help a fellow Diser.

Good luck to Ali today at her interview at Target/Starbucks!!

That would be an awesome first job and she would learn awesome customer service skills. Of course she would see the good and bad sides of people but still important life skills none the less.

Yah - she did great. It helps a little that I work there. I am just glad she was able to experience a real interview - had she gone and applied at a few other places, they probably would have just hired her because they know her, but I think going through a real interview process is a good experience to have.

And besides... Then she can make my coffee. :woohoo:

I am hopeful you get some relief with your back injury. I hope the doctor can give you some answers.

Don't want to be suffering when you are in Disney!!

Plus don't want it to interfere with your lifting regimen as it is now:guilty:

Thank you... It's seeming to get better. As long as I don't do anything with it. Sigh. I am anxious to get back to lifting though.

Congrats on your awesome weight loss!! I was so happy to hear you say that you were able to buy your Target dresses in a size large Such a great feeling that is!!

Your result pictures are amazing!!

Thank you... I was happy to be able to buy them in a large too... I will be posting pictures below, but I am a little nervous - I think I should have bought them in a medium, as I don't know how much longer the larges will fit me? I guess I can always take them in at the seams if necessary - however, I always say I can do that, but I never do. :confused3

The only new one for us, this trip is Chef Mickey's. I am not sure which one I am most looking forward to? I love them all quite honestly. Probably my top 3 are Tusker House, Crystal Palace and BoG. I am pretty "meh" on Akershus and 1900 PF... and I am not certain that we are keeping Garden Grill, since I keep hearing rumors that it isn't rotating - and what fun is that? LOL

Oooh - you have some great ADRs... I still hope to try Kona someday... Suzi (and others) rave about it... But the girls still love their Lilo and Stitch - so if we are going to the Poly for breakfast, we are seeing them. However, if we ever get the chance to stay at the Poly, we WILL be doing Kona.

I forgot to mention another first for us!!

We are going to The Hoop-De-Doo Revue

Something else I have wanted to do for a long time but never made it work.

That is also on my bucket list of "must-dos" some day. One day, for one trip in my lifetime, I am going to splurge on Deluxe accomodations and Deluxe Dining... and I am going to do HDDR... And CRT (again)... and all the other 2 credit restaurants. That will have to be on a LONG trip too - because it's so hard for me to rip myself away from the parks.

I think we have decided to skip MNSSHP

Cant get my husband that excited about it!!
I know he would love the parade and fireworks but we are not that into the Character Meet-n-Greets so we may just do La Nouba again instead!!

If you have never been to Cirque it is a must do for us!!

We have been to the show twice and both times enjoyed it very much

MNSSHP is our all time favorite - I was going to say "if" - but when we go back during the fall (our favorite time to go - doesn't work with the girls' school schedules in HS) - it is on our MUST DO list... The gilrs love it - I love it. Quite honestly, we did MNSSHP before they did a lot of the character M&G, and it is still a must do for us - with out the character interaction. It's worth the price for the parade alone, the amazing fireworks are a bonus too. ::yes::

I have not done Cirque... I know the girls really want to do it - I would have LOVED to do it for this Sweet 16 trip, but sadly, our trip is a short one, and we just cannot squeeze in any extras. I do hope to make it part of our next trip though.

Yeah!! I made it to 10!!

Thanks for letting me take over your trip report and I will be sending you a PM

Yay!!! Congratulations! Now don't stay a lurker... It's fun to play on the Dis.

Great work!! Don't be concerned that your hard work won't sell! Be concerned that your auction is going to turn into Walmart on Black Friday! LOL

Lisa

Thanks Lisa! I agree - I was really trying to make these bags fit a variety of people and budgets... I have some lower priced ones and some higher priced ones.

Yes, the Mrs. Potts set was an awesome set... I did that for a good friend of mine as a gift... It was so fun to surprise her with it. :lovestruc

Hahaha... Walmart Black Friday... I can only hope. Quite honestly, I hate doing auctions... They are so much work for me - and "putting myself out there" like that... well, it's really hard. I always make myself so nervous and sick while they are going on. Part of the reason I am only doing a 24 hour auciton this time. LOL

Ohhh there's a Goofy bag!!! They all came out great, I expect a bidding frenzy!

Thank you Cindy... I sure hope so. I don't care about the frenzy - as long as each one finds a new home, that's my only goal. The rest is gravy. ::yes::

**********************************************************

First - an Alli update... She did great at her 2nd interview yesterday. They called her back right away... She goes in today to meet with the HR person - and this is usually where they offer her a job pending the drug screening test results... :woohoo: I am very proud of her. Although - kind of sad - I am the type of parent who feels that a child should stay a child as long as possible... As I had to grow up too fast - I want my children to enjoy their childhood... They have the rest of their lives to work. But, she wants a job... So...

Yesterday was busy for me... I was able to get this week's custom order applique finished... I worked on it for a few hours before I took Alli to town for her interview... Then I worked on it for a few hours after we got home. I am not sure when I will be able to finish this bag, as my next couple of days are a little insane.

Today... as I said above, I have to take Alli to town. The girls also have appointments today... So, pretty much - most of my morning/early afternoon is shot. There won't be any sewing going on today.

Tomorrow, bright and early, I have to drive up to my Dad's to take him to church... The last 2 months have been crazy insane and I haven't been able to do my scheduled weekend with him... So, I have to leave home at 6am tomorrow to get to his house to get him to church on time. I will probably spend the whole day up there with him. I won't be spending the night though - I still have so much to do.

Even though my auction bags are finished... I am still "barely" caught up in my sewing room... I am so tired of being in there. These auctions take a lot out of me, and by the time I finish them - It's impossible to keep me in my sewing room any longer than necessary. The only thing that keeps me going are my trip customs... I SOOOO enjoy donig those - more than anything.

Then there's the little issue of my auctions... If you noticed, my life schedule is a lot hectic right now... I will not be home for hardly any of my auctions. I will be monitoring what I can from my phone... I won't even be home to end them (I will be driving)... I may have to talk Josh or one of the girls into doing it for me. So, hopefully it goes smoothly.

Disney Stuff: I wore my black tshirt dress yesterday... I am very excited about them - they are super comfy! I cannot wait to wear them on our trip. I am a little worried though - I ordered all of them in a large, and I am seriously thinking the large is borderline big right now... I think I should have ordered them in a medium?

20140619_130045.jpg

20140619_125956_1.jpg

But I think the length is good on me... I do admit, I have a pair of bike shorts on under it... Sorry - but after all this weight loss, I have some saggy skin, and it just looks smoother if I wear bike shorts under fabric like this.

I might wear the red one today, just to see if that fits me the same? I sure hope Target makes these in more colors and offers them again next year (so I can get smaller sizes then)... They are awesome dresses, and super comfortable.

Thats about all for me today... I just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you who stuck by me for these auctions... I fell seriously behind on so many TRs/PTRs - and I feel badly about it... I hope to start catching up next week. :lovestruc

Oh - and Mo did an update in her PTR of the Chicago Dismeet... You all should go read it... It's pretty funny. ::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful day - and an awesome weekend. and prayers to all!

D~

Another black on black... I know you all remember when I made these -They were crazy hard... Love this interior fabric though.
