Hi all! I need some serious help here...
Have booked our April trip for the WL...was very, very excited about that because I really want to stay there.
Here's my problem: We have since decided to purchase APs for us all so that we can use them for a (keeping my fingers crossed) resort discount and a trip next February. I got to thinking that since we will have the expense of buying those this year, maybe we should stay at a mod resort this trip and do WL next year.
Started doing research on the mods and the only one we are interested in is PORS...
What should I do? Agh! I'm driving my DH crazy weighing all the options!
Any suggestions? TIA!

PORS was our first resort and I LOVED it!! Since we have only stayed at AKL, but have visited all of the deluxe resorts. We will be spliting our next stay between WL and BWI. I like to try new things, but every time I make a reservation I consider PORS again because I have such GREAT memories of it. I don't think you can go wrong with either WL or PORS so if it makes more financial sense to go with PORS then do that. There's always the "next trip", which I think I'll be taking for many years to come.

PS - I know someone on these boards coined the term "Resort Anxiety Disorder" or RAD for short. I think it's cute, but wanted to point out the RAD is actually Reactive Attachment Disorder, which is a behavioral disorder that can cause much pain and suffering to the family taking care of a RAD child. Like I said, it doesn't bother me, but I wonder if it would seem insensitive to those families if we just use the RAD abbreviation without spelling out what we are actually saying - "Resort Anxiety Disorder".

Shelly,
I feel like a big ****! I had no idea and apologize to anyone who might have seen that and thought I was being very insensitive!!

Thanks for your insight on my resort anxiety disorder, as well!

I coined the term and (of course) had no idea. I think on these boards, everyone knows what we are talking about in regards to the resorts, but I agree... let's try to use the full name at least in the first post!

By the way, I think you should stay in the deluxe this time as opposed to a Feb trip, where you may not get to use the pool (it can get freezing cold in Feb). We have always done our Jan/Feb trips at the values and saved the deluxes for warmer weather. We did not use the pool at Pop at ALL!!!

just my 2 cents...POR is wonderful you can't go wrong, but before you buy the AP you my want to wait and see how much the new passes they are offering in Jan with the no exp option...I think AP's are going up and it may be cheaper to get the 10 day no exp. passes and if you need and AP to make a ressie it can be just one person in your party that has a AP

Was POR Dixie Landings before? If so, we stayed there for our Honeymoon and LOVED IT. It was so relaxing just to stroll the grounds. But that is the case with WL. Both are so gorgeous! We just had to switch our WL to Pop, so I know how you feel about having to switch. Just know that you will have a great time no matter where you stay.

The Wilderness Lodge is WONDERFUL and is my favorite resort!! You'll love it there. Ask for room #5032. This room has a great view of the castle, as well as the upper floors to the Contemporary and the lagoon. It is near the elevators, but I found it quite quiet. It's a quick walk to the main lobby, boat dock & pool and a little longer to the bus stop. The option of having the boat :boat: to the Magic Kingdom and to the Contemporary to grab the monorail was great! If you click on the link below, there are pictures of the room & the view I had. I did not care for POR when I stayed there, since it was just too spread out for my taste. My recommendation is to keep your reservation at the Wilderness Lodge, relax and enjoy a great resort!!! :cloud9:

We stayed there in '99 during Hurricane Floyd and will be returning in a few weeks. We can't wait! You really can't go wrong with any of the resorts so let go of your anxiety! Afterall, you're going to Walt Disney World! :cool1:
