So we are two weeks away  and I am obsessing over things of course and have several questions. (we have been 1x before). We have three kids 4.5, 4.5, and 2.5. Thanks in advance!--here goes:

1) What is the best way to "tag" your young children in case they get lost? (Always heard not to put their name on anything so someone couldn't be like hey Johnny I know your mom...)

2) What snacks are best to bring into the park with you?
I know everyone has there preference but just want a consensus.

3) Will my laptop be safe in the resort room?

4) Other than snacks or bubbles is there anyway to keep kids entertained in line? (duct tape!! :rotfl: )

Any other info would be appreciated!

Two weeks away??...Yea!! :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1:

I can answer two of the questions....

We like to take fruit snacks and fruit roll ups (as long as it's not too hot....sometimes fruit roll-ups melt and make a mess...but we have never had a problem with fruit snacks! :thumbsup2 )

I take my laptop EVERY time and have not had a problem yet (knock on wood....LOL!) :goodvibes

Have fun!!:goodvibes

P.S. I can kind of answer the waiting in line question....my kids are a bit older but they LOVE playing "rock, paper, scissors" while waiting in line and amazingly that keeps them busy for quite a while....that, and the duct tape....LOL!!:lmao:

As far as the waiting in line time, games like:
name things that have wheels
name things that start with the letter a
name things that have fur
name things that are red
name things that swim
etc.
Have fun!

I bought dog tags for my kids. You can get them out of that machine at petsmart or walmart.....I put their names on them along with my cell number and my mom's cell number. I tied it on their shoes that way it was out of the way and no one could really see their names.

I made mailing labels on my label maker at work that say "If I get lost call XXX (mine and DH's cell #s)." And noted the resort we're staying at. I'm going to put it on the back of his shirt. There's also Shoe ID tags and personalized temporary tattoos you can buy.

For waiting in line, don't do bubbles. It can annoy other guests, stain their clothes, get on their glasses, etc. I got a pack of neon pipe cleaners at the dollar store. I figured he could make things out of them. Also got a tiny coloring/activity book w/ some crayons attached. You can also let them look at your pics in the digital camera and talk about them.

Have fun!

I found a site with pp's suggestion called safetytat.com where you can put your number on a temp.tattoo and you get 30 for $20. :thumbsup2

A tip for #3. If you are worried about your laptop, take a picture of it inside your hotel room with the date stamp on, so if anything WERE to happen, you have proof of its existance!

Snack-wise.....goldfish, raisins, pretzels, granola bars...

I like the idea of going through pictures to keep them busy in line. My kids also :thumbsup2 love when I take their picture and show it to them.

1. You can get temporary tattoos that have special markers to ID your kids. I think they're $1.99/ea. Not sure if I have a link lying around, but you should be able to google them fairly easily.
2. I recently purchased 5-6 boxes of 100 calorie packs in cookies and snack mix. They were on sale, they're a good size for little ones, and you don't have to fight with them when the bag is all gone. I also picked up a bag of goldfish, my DS loves them and he's 2 1/2 too! I'm also planning to pick up some mandarin orange cups. I'll be able to drain the liquid and he can eat them on his own time, and they shouldn't be too messy!.
3. Strange as it seems, my old photography teacher used to buy a wire mesh bag. Whenever he had to leave his expensive equipment in his room, he would pad lock his equipment in the wire bag to the plumbing in the room! He never had any trouble. As with anything, if someone really wants it, they'll take it. I wouldn't leave it in plain sight! I usually carry mine in a bag that doesn't look like a computer bag, that way it's not a huge attention getter.
4. I can't help you with the entertainment part yet, as I'm still trying to figure that out myself! :rotfl: Good luck and have a great trip!

I've always used idonme.com. Wonderful ID bracelets in lots of colors and patters...id, phone number, child's name or whatever is written on a provided paper and folded up inside the id bracelet. Strangers can't id the child, but the child will know where all the vital information is stored if they get lost. Also, the cast members have seen enough of these to know what they are and what they contain. My husband is NYPD and would not let me id my children in any other way because of the possible dangers associated with having a trusting child's name shown on the outside of their clothing:scared1: . Best part is that they're cool!! And inexpensive...definitely worth it!:thumbsup2

As far as snacks, I try to go for something individually wrapped and dry, like goldfish crackers or wheat thins. They tend to hold up the best with the hustle and bustle...and no mess!!

I bought dog tags for my kids. You can get them out of that machine at petsmart or walmart.....I put their names on them along with my cell number and my mom's cell number. I tied it on their shoes that way it was out of the way and no one could really see their names.

This is a great idea! And not expensive, either!

Yes I've heard of companies that do this. I think that's what we'll do! But question - where's the best place to tatoo them? ON their forearm where it's easy to see of up higher on the "meaty" part of their arm where people can't easily see their name and hotel info?

i ordered some silicone ID bracelets from 24hourwristbands.com. i'm having the resort name printed on the outside, and the child's name and my cell phone number on the inside (extra 25 cents for message on inside). a nice bonus is that in the list of fonts, the font at the bottom is waltograph42 :thumbsup2 it also gives you the option of Made in China (no extra charge) or Made in USA (15 cents extra) and eco option (made from recylcled mats, also 15 cents extra). my total was $8.63 each, including shipping.

I write my cell phone number on kids tummies (near waistband) with sharpie. the cost is FREE. the kids know where it is and IF they get lost they can show it to a CM. It lasts the whole week and wears off at home.
