Well on our original plan, today was going to be a waterpark morning and Epcot in the afternoon and evening. However the lovely Florida weatherman told us that this morning was going to be quite cool, so we hastily changed our plans and decided to mosey over to DTD for the morning.
We take a gentle stroll across taking in all the stunning vistas of the hotel grounds expecting it to be a little cooler but it wasn't really. Maybe to Floridians expecting 90 degrees, but to us it was pleasantly warm.
We arrive into DTD Marketplace around 9.15 only to find all the shops are closed until 10.am.
It wasn't til we got home that we realised that Lady's eyes in this pic are somewhat menacing
We decide to venture into Earl of Sandwich. Although we've never been in there before we remember the glowing reports from other DIS trippies.
We are not disappointed. Paulet and I have the Bacon Egg and Chesse toasted bagel whilst Jack has the Ham and Swiss Mini Loaf.
Only disappointment being that I completely forgot to use dining credits and paid cash DOH !
The photo makes it look a little burnt but it really wasn't - it was delish!
By the time we finish the shops are opening so Paulet indulges in retail therapy whilst Jack and I tag along looking interested
After strolling through Marketplace and over to West Side we are in need of refreshment so we pop into Starbucks for a Latte, Chai Latte and hot chocolate. Venturing on we come to Disney Quest. Now when we last went in Disney Quest some ten years ago we thought it was dated and not worth the money. Today we realise that we have free entry with our 14 day ultimate tickets so give it a whirl.
Even the lifts to the game floors have lost their 'entertainment'. They are now just plain boring lifts! No Aladdin video on the walls. The games are fun for a while but any more than an hour drags, especially for Paulet who isn't a gamer.
At least I got a Wreck-It-Ralph moment (One of my current fav characters!)
Feeling peckish we head to the highly recommended Wolfgang Puck Express.
Well thumbs up people, fab choice! Thanks DIS again
One Chicken Ceasar Salad, One Rotisserie Chicken and one Spaghetti and Chicken Meatballs, with brownies and fruit cups for desserts plus drinks for three Qs credits.
Whilst getting our fountain drinks it takes us ages and ages to figure out how to get water from the dispenser - eventually a kind server helps us out. It's not obvious - you have to pull a little lever under the still lemonade dispenser! Really, would it not be that difficult to have a separate dispenser labelled Water !!
As we finish eating Jack starts to complain of a toothache. He says he hurt it on our arrival night eating the crisps with his nuggets in Artist Palette. He takes some ibuprofen but he is obviously suffering.
We walk back to SSR for a quick shower and change and then catch the bus over to Epcot for 3.00.
We'd made FP+ for Nemo, Test Track and Spaceship Earth, so we head straight to Nemo
Before our Test Track Fp Jack and I decide to sample a couple of beers from the craft beer tent - Its the Food and Wine festival so it would be rude not to...
If my trip notes are right we tried a Sunshine State Pilsner and a Wild Hare.
Both were very yummy..
Next up was my fav Disney ride ever - Test Track. I was looking forward to the new ride as we hadn't done it since it's makeover. It didn't disappoint although I'm not sure if I prefer the old version or not! I did enjoy designing the car - who doesn't just go for outright power and plasma burning engines ???!!!
We head straight over to Spaceship Earth, again with its new Judi Dench tweaks. An improvement or not ? Not sure, but its a ride we always have to do.
Before dinner we need to drink our way around a little bit of the world - just to build up an appetite you understand

We stop at Hawaii, Canada, Brazil. Poland and Ireland. Jack can drink his old man under the table these days, being 6'5" and accustomed to large quantities of Guiness, so I struggle to keep up
Our ADR is for Rose and Crown at 7.15 - hopefully for an outside table and prime firework viewing positions! Even before checking in, its apparent that Jack's tooth is really starting to hurt him despite ibuprofen and alcohol to numb the pain. He struggles on insisting he'll be fine.
We check in at 7.10 and kick our heels for a full 35 minutes before being called in. Not pleased! - Then we get an inside table, I know its a 50/50 chance but it doesn't improve my mood. Our server is lovely and chatty and explains that they are short handed tonight, hence the large queue outside , yet empty tables inside. We order fish and chips x2 and a chicken curry. It takes ages to get drinks and then even longer for the food to arrive. We had been recommended the fish and chips but neither Paulet or Jack were overly impressed. My chicken curry was just mediocre too.
Jack is clearly in real pain now so we call our server over and explain that we won't be staying for the fireworks (there's a private viewing area for those seated inside the restaurant). She offers to get our desserts boxed to go as they are included on the dining plan. We agree that this is a good idea until she finds out from the kitchen that it would be a further 20 minute wait for them!!! Really! 20 minutes to put a cake in a box!! DAFT!
We get the check (we still tip our server as she was not to blame) and leave.
Overall impressions of Rose and Crown may be slightly tainted by the fact that Jack wasn't well, but we probably won't go back.
We walk out of Epcot and jump the bus back to SSR and straight to bed after dosing Jack up some more.
Dining Plan - Day 2
3 QS credits at Wolfgang Puck ($68.54)
3 TS credits at Rose and Crown ($75.58 excl tips and alcohol and no dessert)
